Supporters of WikiLeaks Suspect to Hold Rally at Kansas Prison

If this fellow is found guilty and I believe one of the charges should be treason he should either be jailed for life or put to death for putting fellow soldiers in harms way.

But quit pussy footing around and have a damn trial.

Supporters of WikiLeaks Suspect to Hold Rally at Kansas Prison - FoxNews.com

Supporters of an Army private accused of funneling classified documents to WikiLeaks are holding a support rally and vigil Saturday outside his military prison in Kansas.

The rally is aimed at pressuring the Obama administration to drop all charges against Army Pfc. Bradley Manning, who faces over 20 charges and, if found guilty, a maximum sentence of life in prison.

Manning has been in military custody for a year -- beginning in Iraq, until he was moved to a maximum-security detention facility at Quantico, Va. He is now held in Fort Leavenworth. His trial is expected to begin this summer

How much of a clue do you have about this? That's right, none.

Death does not have to happen to be convicted of treason. It can easily be proven that he endangered the lives of soldiers. That's all that is necessary.

He hasn't committed treason. There's no evidence that the leaked documents provided aid and comfort to the enemy or led to the deaths of any American personnel. He is clearly guilty of espionage, and that is the crime for which he should be tried. It is debatable whether or not his espionage meets the criteria for the death penalty, because there is no evidence that his leak of those documents was intended to interfere with the operation of the American military or that it actually did so. It seems to have embarrassed the State Department more than anything else.

I would support the death penalty on general principle, but I don't think it's actually on the table at this point. He does need to receive the harshest penalty possible under law; an example must be made.

"Manning, a former intelligence analyst, is accused of leaking hundreds of thousands of documents to the anti-secrecy website WikiLeaks. The documents include Iraq and Afghanistan war logs, confidential State Department cables and a classified military video of a 2007 Apache helicopter attack in Iraq that killed a Reuters news photographer and his driver.

He released war logs. Our enemies in Iraq and Afghanistan now understand how we viewed the battle and their operations. They can use that information to develop tactics to defeat us. This is a bad thing. Now we are always evolving our tactics as well in an effort to stay ahead of them. If he is guilty, as charged, then he ought to stay in prison for the rest of his life or be executed. Either one is fine with me.

Soooo.... the afghani mufti led sheep herders are going to use the wikileaks against us? Sorry, link us some evidence that the leak has changed anything strategically in any way, any iota perhaps.

He's guilty of espionage beyond a doubt, in my opinion. I hope his sentence is harsh. Releasing a trove of confidential and secret documents was reckless and dangerous, particularly since he had no idea what all was on that disk. He just emptied it onto a thumbdrive and wantonly gave it to a meglomanical anarchist to distribute globally. Damned idiot. I hope he's a very old man before he sees daylight again.

Don't be a fool. On the other hand, go right on ahead. Just give me a moment to get out of your way.

There. That is about enough time. Proceed.
