No accounting for choices. Many of them also have cell phones and cable and smoke cigarettes too (seems we already had this discussion recently). Anywhoo...m just sayin...you can eat on a very small budget if you are careful, buy in bulk, and go for those store brands.

Wait...why not? Buy the low sodium ramen...you still have veggies, starches, and a certain element of nutrition. Throw in 18 boiled eggs and cut them in half and dice into your meal and you are adding protein.

A single serving of beef ramen noodles has 861 mgs of salt that is 36% of the RDA.

Yeah, it's nasty stuff. It is however good for keeping your stomach from growling. That's about it.

I also bet all you who lived on them paid with real money. Most are probably too young to remember Mac & Cheese at less than 20 cents a box, even at the little store in the neighborhood. I lived on those for a long time after I moved out of my parents house. I've always managed without foodstamps. They should only be for those who really need them.

And the low sodium version have?

Again...we are talking about food on a budget of $25 a month. Obviously for some it wont work. For most...it beats starving.

Couldn't find a low sodium version.

And yeah it beats starving but the odds are it will lead to major health complications down the line that are even more costly to treat.

thats why you add frozen veggies, potatos, onions, and egg. A wedge of cream cheese...a touch of butter...

Perfect? no...but the challenge was to provide a month of meals on $25.00 So...love to see yours or Winstons options...

that's why you dilute the crap out of em. boil the noodles in about 5X the recommended amount of water, add the little packet, then drain and rinse. sure....tastes like crap but it will keep you from starving.

This will be my absolute last word on this because really...discussing Ramen is silly...but...
    1-Nissan Choice...low sodium ramen noodles.
    2-As per CNN...
"The noodles themselves are pretty harmless, said Ron Konzak, author of The Book of Ramen. Yes, someone actually wrote a book about ramen. There are web sites devoted to the topic, too. Usually its the MSG in the flavor packets that can harm people on low sodium diets or who are allergic to the stuff. Even those who dont suffer from symptoms should be careful not to overdo it when it comes to the noodles, or at least the flavor packs, which Brooks says are also high in sodium. A sampling of the three main brands of instant noodles revealed sodium amounts of 687 to 830 milligrams per serving.
The Internet offers sites devoted to clever recipes using instant noodles. Some of the more interesting include ramen pancakes, ramen chili and cream cheese ramen. And many of the recipes dont incorporate the sodiumladen flavor packs."

If people eat like that for any amount of extended time the repercussions are going to be more costly.
