Europe tour shows Obama feeling more comfortable at the top

what has the slasher done right?

1. pulled the trigger on ubl

2. produced his birth certificate

3. he appears a wonderful father to two lovely young ladies, i hope he quit smoking

The Osama mission comes to mind, as well as not closing Gitmo, NOT forcing the trail of KSM in NYC, NOT pulling out of Afghanistan, NOT ending the Patriot Act...

Thank you, Mr. V.

I do, too. He's going to want to be there for the grands.

I find the following quote in the article quite funny:

"He's not the junior person anymore," said Stephen Flanagan, a Europe specialist and senior vice president of the Center for Strategic and International Studies. "He has gained a lot of credibility for things he has done and for his general message about how he wants to engage with the rest of the world."

The quote is entertaining to me because it seems the exact opposite. How has Obama gained credibility when he has reneged on some very important promises such as pulling US forces out of Iraq, with the possibility that they may stay beyond 2014.

If Obama is trying to destroy America than so has every president since Jefferson.

Perhaps you can pick some key policy areas in which Barrack Obama has been an improvement.

I said he can't be worse than Bush. I never said he was better. However, I would say his foreign policy direction is better than Bush's.

For another thread, but Jeffereson sucked as President. As did Madison. John Adams too. The first quality President after Washington was Monroe.

Actually he is largely carrying on the foreign policy of George Bush, the Bush Doctrine, but is seen as more of a dilettante because of evident lack of experience and seriousness.

He has also staffed himself with weak and inexperienced advisors, which was demonstrated most recently on his European tour. He should have been at home when the flooding and tornadoes struck, rather than drinking beer in Ireland and screwing up protocol in the UK. Not that he would have made a difference but it would have been more seemly.

Wasn't he already on the plane when that happened?

They have return flights.

And you think thats piratical, to snub everyone else to come back, say a few words, and thats it? The government has organizations to handle situations like this so the president doesn't have to do it personally.

I feel certain that the bartender in Ireland or his table tennis opponent in England would have forgiven his cancellation if he returned home in a matter of emergency.

You are over simplifying what Obama was doing in Europe. Borderline disingenuous in fact

What do you think BHO was doing in Europe?

His fist visit was like you described, but the majority of the visit was making the case that America can no long afford being the banner carrier for democracy anymore

See how easy that was? Obama could have said the same with a phone call.

And judging from the debts he's piled up I think they know that already.

Wouldn't of had the same affect and you know it. Stop being disingenuous

Do you really think he had to say this in person?

And his highly publicized flubs ruined whatever good the trip might have done.
