Our media is controlled by corporations. Extremely powerful organizations, far more powerful than one person, but with none of the culpability. Our government is controlled by corporations. Organizations with a lot of money, whose only aim is to make more, little people be damned. And we wonder why our government is broken. Weíre mad as hell Ė nothing is working. We canít find a decent job, hell, any job at all. So whoís fault is that? Surprise. It isnít the poor, or the illegal immigrants, or even the governmentís. Our government is far from innocent in all this, but not the cause. Itís those corporations, those organizations that are turning record profits and record layoffs. Those greedy bastards that messed up the economy to begin with, and then rewarded themselves with huge bonuses. Yeah, weíre mad as hell, but this country has been running around like a chicken with its head cut off. Weíre blaming a hundred different people, but not the guilty. Why? Because itís un-American? Weíve been taught that capitalism is the purest form of freedom. If youíre smart enough, and work hard enough, you can accomplish anything. The American dream. You can do anything you set your mind to. But weíre slowly learning thatís not true. That the poor, the unemployed, the disenfranchised arenít lazy like weíve been told. That no matter how hard youíre willing to work, there just isnít a job out there. So everyday Americans become poorer, and the rich become richer. But hey, thatís freedom. Well no, itís not. Thatís screwing over most Americans and masquerading it as patriotism. If your criticize capitalism, thatís anti-American. Since when has silence in the face of injustice been American? If you want ďyour America backĒ, then take it. Take it back from those greedy bastards who get millions and billions of dollars while you canít find a decent job. Take it from those jerks that ran the economy into the ground and rewarded themselves. They donít define what being an American is. You do, the people. But being American, to me at least, meaning standing up for whatís right, it means equality and justice for everyone. Not just those who can afford it.
The media is owned by corporations. GE, Walt Disney, Viacom, News Corp., Time Warner. And for some reason, these news organizations are telling us that the corporations are not the problem. That these job creators who make 185 times that of the average person they employ arenít the cause of the problems in Washington. They send lobbyists down there to make sure that the get what they want out of the laws, and then contribute unlimited amounts of money to their campaigns. These media outlets control what news gets reported and what doesnít. media outlets controlled by major corporations promoting their own agenda. The mediaís as bought and paid for as those assholes in government. Thatís not freedom of the press. Thatís not American.
