Holy cow, conservatives are claiming Glenn Beck is stealing content from them. Is there no honor in the consevative media? Beck wouldn't steal from other conservatives, would he?

A number of conservative activists and bloggers say they’re furious at media magnate Glenn Beck for what they call content theft. Over the past several years, Beck has relied on video, audio and written content from others to fill his radio and television shows, as well as his websites. Often he has credited his fellow conservatives for their work. Yet in many other instances say dozens of conservative journalists who spoke to The Daily Caller, he has not, often taking elaborate steps to cloak the origins of the material.

Publisher Andrew Breitbart has seen a number of his stories surface on various Beck media properties over the past few years. While he describes himself as “grateful for the many times he has credited me and my sites,” Breitbart says that “sometimes he also uses other peoples’ work without crediting them, making it appear as though it were his own. But especially since adopting ‘The Truth Has No Agenda’ slogan – and trying to deliberately re-position himself as the pious conscience and judge of many of those he took content from – he has exposed himself to his new motto’s unforgiving standard.”

What I don't think people get is that these pundits don't actually believe the crap they spout on the airwaves. People like Beck are marketers. They find an audience and then they tell that audience the things they want to hear. In so doing, they develop followers, pick up ratings, sell advertisement, and rake in a lot of money and notoriety. It's all showmanship. They are just manipulating people. They intentionally omit facts or distort the facts in order to get an emotional reaction out of people. These people are just like Stephen Colbert. They are playing a character. However, unlike with Colbert, a lot of people actually take pundits like Beck seriously.

Let's get both sides of the story, shall we? Beck responded to this on his radio show yesterday. He said he was sorry if he didn't give credit everytime he showed a video or played an audio clip. I don't know any radio show that credits the youtube video creator or blogger everytime they use a video or audio.

He also stated that he has emails from those very people saying how much they appreciated Beck putting their stuff on TV and radio. And....Beck is hiring a bunch of new people to his company and some of the people who are angry at him now for "not crediting them" were ones that didn't make the cut. :)

Also....the Daily Caller is buddies with James O'Keefe. They're a bit ticked that TheBlaze went against their NPR investigation and showed the entire story, discrediting O'Keefe.

And.......whoever claims that Beck stole "The Truth Has No Agenda" from someone and started selling items with that slogan on it should probably do some research and find out that the man who made up that slogan has worked for Beck for 20 years and Beck was his best man at his wedding. So.....no, there was no "stealing" of the slogan. LOL!

The lengths people will go to try to discredit this man are ridiculous.

the lengths people go to to defend this man are ridiculous.

The truth is the truth, and when someone brings it to the table in situations like this where slander is involved, it should be welcomed, not scorned.

other than whine, can you refute anything she just said?

sure, just as soon as she can prove what she said. lol......beck has become an embarrassment for republicans and they can't wait to jump ship....why IS that, do you think?

Let me know when Van Jones, George Soros, Barack Obama, The Tides Foundation, Frances Fox Piven, Jim Wallis, Rev. Wright, Color for Change, ACORN, etc. etc. etc. sue Beck for supposed "lies" about them.
