By Hannity's Standards, Fox Must Fire Beck | Media Matters for America

We've previously documented that by Glenn Beck's own standards, he deserves to be fired. As someone who spews falsehoods and baseless accusations on a continuous basis, he should not be allowed to remain on the air. It turns out Beck is also violating the standards of fellow Fox News host Sean Hannity, who said "they'd fire me" for engaging in incendiary rhetoric.

On Thursday, Hannity interviewed Media Research Center director L. Brent Bozell, who attacked media figures for wishing for the death of conservative figures. Bozell also went after Bill Maher for supposedly saying "conservatives want to kill liberals." (According to Bozell's own website, NewsBusters, Maher actually said: "The right-wing loves, the go-to rhetoric for them is, 'Wouldn't it be fun to kill the people we disagree with?' ")

Hannity responded in part, "If we did talk this way, I'd be fired. Let's be honest." Bozell agreed: "Absolutely, you'd be fired." Hannity then said: "If I just -- to take any of these quotes, and it's me talking and me attacking a prominent liberal politician, whatever, they'd fire me."

Sorry, I can't take anymore of your beloved Media Matters at this time. They are easy to discredit but it is a total waste of time. Use their examples if you must, but please link the stories to another less biased news source.

They've waited a long time for this kind of oppurtunity. They're not going to correct their reporting, just because it's wrong.

Don't you love how Media Matters takes one sentence from Glenn Beck and proceeds to tell us what he was talking about.
Or the headlines that say Beck pours gasoline on average American. Showing him with a gas can and no audio.
Dang, if i didn't know Glenn Beck, or Media Matters, I might want the evil, violent Beck fired immediately!

Beck pours gasoline on "average American," asks, "President Obama, why don't you just set us on fire?" On his television show, Beck claimed to be imitating Obama while pouring liquid from a gasoline can -- which he later stated was water -- on an actor portraying the "average American." Beck said during his demonstration: "President Obama, why don't you just set us on fire? ... We didn't vote to lose the republic." [Fox News' Glenn Beck, 4/9/09

Please watch this funny skit by Beck and Bill Schulz from Red Eye. Don't take Media Matter's word for anything. Beck uses props sometimes when telling the truth about the Obama administration.

I put media matters on the same level I put Fox news. And that is less then credible. Although not as bad as World News Daily or Michael Moore.
 
Beck has fantasized about killing filmmaker Michael Moore and poisoning House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.

And he regularly suggests that progressives will engage in violence or want to kill him and other conservatives. For instance:
  • On March 23, 2010, Beck suggested that members of the Obama administration want to kill him, saying: "And for those of you in the administration who are coming after me on this one -- I mean, remember, you've broken three [of the 10 Commandments], let's not make it four. 'Thou shall not kill.' "
  • On February 16, 2010, Beck said, "I'd better start wearing a vest," because "White House advisers promise a quicker, more aggressive response to GOP attacks on the president and his policies."
  • On September 13, 2010, Beck warned that "if you don't think violence is coming, I'm going to share some audio of Frances Fox Piven that will boggle your mind." Beck said that "they don't mind violence. Violence will come. And violence will come from the left. Violence is part of the plan. Not mine, not yours."
  • On June 10, 2010, Beck warned that "anarchists, Marxists, communists, revolutionaries, Maoists" have to "eliminate 10 percent of the U.S. population" in order to "gain control."
  • On May 27, 2010, Beck said that progressives are engaging in a "soft revolution" designed to silence voices like his. He added: "If somebody starts to turn on them, or they can't get everyone to silence, that's when the arrests come, or that's when they start a hard revolution. That's when they start just shooting people. I hope we don't get to that point."
  • On September 24, 2010, Beck suggested that Obama would respond to potential GOP victories in the November 2010 elections by "going right directly" to the "most progressive, most violent, the worst of the worst on the left and stir 'em up. 'Get out into the streets. Cause trouble.' It's what's coming. It's what's coming."
  • On March 23, 2010 -- the same day he warned that the Obama administration wants to kill him -- Beck suggested that Pelosi and Obama have thought of "pick[ing] up a gun" to advance revolution.

They are honestly biased.
They are not dishonest like media matters.
So what did you think of Montel Williams calling for Michelle Bachmann to slit her wrists or her throat?
No conservative I'm aware of would ever call for another Michelle to slit her wrists.
I also know of no conservative who would wish for the beheading of democrats.

Of course you're right Barb, but don't feed the troll... Demand that he actually address the the video I linked to, to start this thread.

All he does is play this game of changing the topic because he can't dispute it. Make him either address the topic or ignore him.

If you had the ability to think read and understand you would know that Hannity is not now nor has he even been or claimed to be Journalist.

Hannity, Beck and Rush are all talk show hosts and your attempt to stray from the facts presented is typical Liberal bovine scatology, meant to change the focus but it almost never works because what it does is show a lack of knowledge and over time it turns up in so many areas it would be hard to list them all.

It wasn't even a good try this time. This video was accurate and allowed those on on it to show in their own words what a bunch of hateful hypocrites they are.

99% of all hate in the media comes from the Left and you would be hard pressed to find any more hateful idiots than on MSNBC every day and night.

Perhaps if you could think, read, understand, you would know I never claimed Hannity was a journalist, no matter what he claims he is. He's a political entertainer.

And using Hannity as a source, complete with his misrepresentations and lack of journalistic prowess, is the msitake of the OP. Do keep that in mind. :coffeepap
