Palin Tricked By Comedian Again, Says Canada Should Drop Public Health Care (VIDEO)

At a recent stop on her "Going Rogue" book tour, Sarah Palin told Canadian comedian Mary Walsh that Canada should get rid of its public health care system.

Walsh is the co-creator and star of This Hour Has 22 Minutes -- a nightly news parody show in the same vein as The Daily Show -- and she arrived in character, as the conservative Marg Delahunty, to the Borders where Palin (the "Alaskan Aphrodite") was signing books.

"I just wanted to ask you if you have any words of encouragement for Canadian conservatives who have worked so hard to try to diminish the kind of socialized medicine we have up there." Walsh shouted to Palin as she approached the table.

Palin's handlers tried to help her by ushering Walsh out of the Borders, but Palin could not be deterred. When Palin left the signing, Walsh caught up with her in the parking lot, where Palin suggested that Canada should get rid of its public health care system. "Keep the faith" Palin said, "because common sense conservatism can be plugged in there in Canada too. In fact, Canada needs to reform its health care system and let the private sector take over some of what the government has absorbed."

Raw Story points out that it is unlikely this plan will go over well among Canadians -- even among conservatives.

There isn't much politicians can do to protect themselves from this kind of scam. They're all vulnerable, and the idiot comedians doing this are discouraging our elected officials from engaging honestly with the public.

I know a few uber-conservative leaning older gentlemen who think the world of her, and 2 of them are college educated. I don't get it....

One explanation I read suggests that the GOP wants us to think that their big tent really is open to women and minorities, so they are willing to take in any female/minority member who shows up. The fact that so few females or minorities are doing so suggests that only the dumbest ones take the bait.


If all the GOP can do is present pretty, but empty, heads, then it can only mean that the GOP leadership thinks that most voters are stupid....

I guess that an ounce of image is worth of pound of performance in politics...

Comedy has taken a staggering blow with this video. Only a totally incompetent "comedian" could have such an easy target as Palin and managed to pull of something totally and completely 180 degrees away from funny.

I will have nightmares for the rest of my life that all of the world's good humor has been stolen by the Canadians and they have replaced it with this nonsense.

I will wake screaming in a cold sweat after imagining being subjected to this type of "comedy" over and over again until the day I die.

May the creator of this video be eaten alive by ill-tempered ladybugs.

This kinda thing actually pisses me off. Palin should be able to go about her daily business without having to worry about some idiot "comedian" trying to ambush her. If a comedian wants some one to be part of their show...ask them.

The woman (interviewer) looks like she's on drugs. The whole story and video wasn't really worth watching. Palin just answered the so called question from her point of view, so what that it was a fake interviewer?
