Re: Which Network Is The Most Biased?

You know....I've poured over that thread http://www.debatepolitics.com/us-par...tactics-3.html where you claim to have posted your proof...but I can't find a single line that says what you allege????

It took you less than 7 minutes to dig up your Chris Matthews proof......Where is the proof where I allegedly said that only Republicans use scare tactics??
You said I did it multiple times......Where are they??

Re: Which Network Is The Most Biased?

Everything that needs to be said, like Prego, is in there. This is the third thread I've said that in, and if your obsession leads you to creating a fourth, fifth, sixth, or however many other thread references to it, it will continue to be the same.

Bored now.

Sorry to bore you but......can you give us a page.....post #....anything where we can find your proof? ( http://www.debatepolitics.com/us-par...tactics-3.html )

Just to tie this into the topic more closely, news networks need to prove their integrity if people are going to believe them..... & I suggest debaters are under the same obligation if they want to be believed.....You agree?

Oh I forgot about Ed, hardly ever watch him.

But Matthews blows with the wind, he fawned all over Bush until his popularity dropped:

Quote:
“This president is ready to fight like a rock through the rest of his term,” Matthews proclaimed. “He made it clear that he’s going to fight as long as it takes to develop a democracy in Iraq. There’s not going to be any change come September.”

Matthews’ monologue is unsurprising, however, given his long record of hero worship for Bush and his supposedly “powerful” presidency:

– “We’re proud of our president. Americans love having a guy as president, a guy who has a little swagger, who’s physical.” [5/1/03]

– “Sometimes it glimmers with this man, our president, that kind of sunny nobility.” [10/25/05]

– “I like him. Everybody sort of likes the president, except for the real whack-jobs, maybe on the left.” [11/28/05]

– “A little bit of Lincoln there, I think,” referring to Bush finally admitting that telling Iraqi insurgents to “bring it on” in 2003 “sent the wrong signal to people.” [5/25/06]
Think Progress In A Three Minute Monologue, Matthews Gushes Over Bush’s ‘Great Neo-Conservative Mind’

That's a much better argument for Matthews.

You must have missed my earlier question so I'll repeat it for you "news networks need to prove their integrity if people are going to believe them..... & I suggest debaters are under the same obligation if they want to be believed.....You agree?"

What about running for congress as a democrat. That's pretty "outright", no?

No. Not all democrats are liberals. Matthews worked for Tip, worked for Carter (did he run for Congress? I know he thought about running for Senate), but went after the Dems when Clinton was in office, and voted for W.

He ain't a lib, but he does lean left. Mostly, not entirely.

Just as not all dems are liberals, not all repubs are conservative. W was a liberal so Mathews voting for him doesn't really change anything.

I don't see Mathews touting any conservative ideas all that often. Granted, I don't see too many republicans doing that either anymore, partisan-bull**** talking-points aside that is, but that's just a ruse to cause friction for democrats IMO.

That's true, however you were commenting on whether or not Matthews was an outright liberal. He's not. And, W sure didn't run as a liberal in '00

I see Matthews touting conservative ideas. You will say the following is liberal, but it is actually conservative: reigning in the neo-cons. He also goes after money issues, and can get quite stuffy (erhm, traditional ), with regard to personal/social issues. Other stuff, too.

However, I'm not arguing that he IS a conservative, just that he has some leanings that way. He generally leans left, but not liberal left, that's for sure. He grew up in a conservative republican household, and still carries much of that with him. His brother ran as republican Lt. Gov of Pennsylvania last go around.
