Who cares is Letterman is in the tank for Obama? It's not like we didn't know that already, come on. And McCain canceling was not the end of the world. But of course since Letterman isn't the show it once was, it may have been hard to find a replacement on such short notice. I mean who wants to talk to Paris Hilton for longer than say, 2 seconds? Comedy was the furthest thing from McCain's mind and I have no problem with him canceling his appearance based on what was taking place. Letterman needs to get over himself already.

I grew up in Indiana and have been a huge Letterman fan for years. But he just doesn't have it anymore and is lowering himself IMO when he pulls the crap he pulled regarding McCain. Saying something once or twice is one thing, but he dragged it out the entire show. I guess when you've run out of material, you're just not as funny as you used to be.

Without permission from whom? It's not like they were catching him in an intensely private moment. It showed him sitting in the television studio waiting for the interview to start. I didn't realize that they needed permission for this.
