Well that's just exposing the =TRUTH= so it's different

Actually Dana's "Fox News is" posts (about one every 9 days) are so routinely silly that I don't respond to them. In fact, I suspect quite strongly that Dana knows how dumb his "Fox News is " shtick is, but still feels compelled to post them. That is how OCD works.

This latest contribution has been all over the internet and debunked as well. You would think that if Fox News was reporting this angle, someone (Media Matters?) or Dana would have the actual footage by now. What we do have is a lot of the "stupid people" that Aps spoke of earlier making great hey of this picture in blogs, debate forums and of course laughs at “Motivated Photos.com”.

It was worth a laugh for me, knowing how bat**** stupid the whole thing is as soon as I saw yet another picture from the internet of "text" supposedly from Fox News.

Hey, could you post a link to the 'debunking'.... First time I saw this wasn't "oh crap, look at Fox News doing it again", it was "photoshop" or "they were talking how some idiot was actually bringing forth that argument and Fox News put the words on the screen"...

Re: FOX News haven for conspiracy theory nuts?

Alright, prepare the flaming arrows, I know I'm going to have them levied at me.

yes, that's right folks, I'm going to try to take a non-partisan, non-biased view of this instead of going "HAHAHAHAH FAUX SUCKS!"

First, our only "evidence" here is a demotivational poster of a single screen cap of a television show. Now, I'm sure you people do understand television shows have a few important facts to them:

1. They are not still photos but are moving video
2. They have audio

So at the moment we have a 1 second snap shot of what was going on, with no context as to what was going on before or after or what it was talked about.

So...wait wait, hold off on grabbing those pitch forks yet...lets see if there's anything at all they could've been discussing at this point. Hmm...

Interesting..."Osama Bin Laden....Obama and Biden". The statement on the small snapshot of fox was said by someone else.

Now, could there potentially be a contextual thing here where they were discussing what the guy said, perhaps even in a joking matter? Possibly. Does it automatically excuse the likely sloppy journalism in the way they did the crawl? No. But it shows a lot about all you that seek to grab the pitch forks and torches and rush out. It shows your agenda. How many of you took the 5 minutes it took me to do research to do it yourself and see if there was more to this? None I'm going to wager by the responses. And of course not, why would you...you may find out that there may actually be something more to it and then you can't pick on your favorite whipping boy.

Oddly enough as well, usually when these things catch something on Fox with them saying something stupid, it goes up on youtube immedietely. However in this case I can't find this segment anywhere on Youtube yet. All I can find is this little poster. Which makes me further wonder what exactly the context of it is.

So congratulations hyperpartisans and mindless drones that just like to jump up and down and laugh and point, you're amazing endevours to be intellectually honest and research anything to legitimately condemn something is amazingly impressive.

Sir Lion does not debunk, he attacks and smears the posters till no one can remember what the thread was about. Usual right wing tactic.

Well Zyph, as you admit, the caption was "sloppy journalism". How come I don't see it ever get sloppy against conservatives unless they are in a scandal? How come they don't slant it in the dems favor?

I watch Fox enough to know that this is a trend, not an anomoly.

An ad hom personal attack and smear, coming from some troll acting like he does not like the same? Usual PeteEU tactics, and of course Pete you poor sodding hack.....................

BTW- Scucca owns the copyright on the "argue myopic minutia until no one can remember what the thread was about" gambit.

Normally all I see of you Pete is your backside, limping away from one of your sophic rants and choosing to avoid actual discussion of anything from anyone that does not agree with you. So it looks like I'm seeing your azz again.

I actually first encountered this picture over at the Huffington Post. Even Arianna has removed the item from her website along with a smorgasbord of rather radical and extremist rants and pictures. Seems she decided they were not all that "journalistic".

Indeed, allegations of.
And were I to say that Faux has a history of just such "coincidence"??? running titles as opposed to this being a one up it's still without hard evidence to support.
But then we also have Karl Rove over as a political advisor/expert on the Fox news channel and such rubbish would not be out of character with him.
As first the emphasis on Barak HUSSEIN Obama has been consistently and unfortunately coming out of the GOP megaphone faux news that they would attempt to run such another running title is then again consistent with the Faux way of doing things - GOP talking points, Karl rove tactics, and a hyperpartisan lean.
Still that does not prove that this is not a photoshop job but rather provides a "probable cause".
So far the only actual report is from tabloid news articles
| The Coincidence Of Osama Bin Laden And Obama Biden | Anorak News

So while it may not be a definite, it's probable. Given that something like this is utterly nonesense to begin with I wonder if there would actually be such.
But then there's no need to chastize faux on this, because it could simply be the guest that is making this comment, why the running title is under him.
Like faux I find all such to be rather pointless so if you don't want to believe the image and insist that it's photoshopped, very well, so be it.
Edit: But then I must ask, what is to suggest that the vid-cap was photo shopped and not authentic?

Re: FOX News haven for conspiracy theory nuts?

Where did I say photoshop in any part of my post that you quoted.

I didn't say it was photoshoped. I said it was a 1 second still image trying to be passed off as concrete proof of something that has to do with a multi-second video and audio incident. That the entire context of this is completely lost and as such provides no real actual information to come to any conclussion save for the fact that it MAY be a rather dishonest crawl made up by fox news while at the same time it MAY be there for a legitimate reason having to do with something for more understandable.

While I said nothing about photoshop, I did say that instead of doing research to find Fox wasn't the first one that said this but someone else did which could've spurred the conversation about it or perhaps taking into effect that we have a 1 second still frame of something an no further information people just saw "fox", something outrageous, and immedietely took it as a chance to fire full out without any desire to actually be intellectually honest.

Basically, a bunch of people on the forum acted as dishonest, informationally bankrupt, and biased as Fox has shown itself to be at times.
