Current Mood: | Is ESPN Liberal? I remember when that retarded idea the "Fairness Doctrine" was being thrown around, the argument was the Conservatives were getting more TV time than liberals. Conservatives pointed out that over 70% (I dont know the actual number) of television is liberal and that also included sports aka ESPN. I dont know how anyone could see that ESPN leans either direction but maybe because of these points; 1. Rush Limbaugh was fired from there after a stupid comment directed at Donnavan McNabb
2. Keith Olberman prior to MSNBC was a sportscaster for them
3. A few months ago Michael Wilbon took a pot shot at Limbaugh at the end of PTI. (I caught it at the very end so I dont even remember what it was)
4. Tony Kornheiser is known for hanging with Republican elites (based on rumors)
4a. Both Korhnheiser and Wilbon came from the Washington Post which is sometimes considered a right wing paper
5. Jim Rome every now and then takes pot shots at Bill Clinton and has taken shots at Jon Stewart as well
6. Some have compared the annoying voice and idiotic attitude of Colin Cowherd to Michelle Malkin
So Im curious does anyone here think ESPN has some sort of political bias? |

At most they have a slight socialy liberal bias that is pervasive through media mostly because it generally makes for common stories to be compelling "[blah blah] a poor black child from the inner city, grew up to have his dream"! ... along with a good portion of other people, of both colors, in all sports
But for practical purposes, their biases is much more in sports things than political. For the most part its an apolitical organization with potentially slightly political personalities (for example, Colin Cowherd is pretty libertarian, Stephen A Douchba- err Smith is a raging race focused liberal, etc)

| Indeed. They too often display gratuitous shots of wrists and other appendages of the female anatomy, and grant non-whites equal coverage.
As well, it seems they've covered abortions for sport. A shameful display of moral turpitude and political partiality. |

ESPN radio is primarily where, if there's going to be political mentions, you'll hear it. Its where I got my comments about Cowherd, as he's talked about libertarian beliefs he holds a number of times. Stephen A. Smith is an entire different storry.... |

And please, don't get me started when it comes to HBO. They should drop the "H" because their leftist programming stinks to high heaven. And "The National Geographic" channel? Most definitely leftist. Shoot, how many other channels will allow flopping boobies to air when children are watching?
C'mon, y'all... get a freakin' grip. Bad enough we have to look for bias when we get our news, but now we have to pretend it happens on every freakin' station? Good lord.
