Don't normally watch this weasel but I just happened to tune in last night. He was ripping on Katie Couric which I thought was great. However, the reason he was doing so stemmed from her criticizing the media for throwing Hillary under the bus this election, so he was just defending his actions of being an Obama nut hugger.

He at least was bearable to watch on Sportscenter. Now he is just a frothing Obama hackster that borders on lunatic. He fits in well at MSNBC.

I honestly can not see how any of these show he is uninformed or "doesn't know what he is talking about".

Olbermann is merely the other side of the O'Reilly coin. Though, I don't think he'll ever attain the level of sensationalism that O'Reilly does simply because few people are willing to go that far. Being blatantly partisan isn't enough.

I don't think he's the other side of the coin as he's more so a debunker.
O'Reilly spews partisan myths, Olbermann debunks them.
Bush administration lies over and over - again Olbermann debunks them.
Granted that in addition to to debunking he'll also stick in a line or two or more so hundred labels on the very characters of those but they are quite different from that which O'Reilly does.
O'Reilly brings "guests" to his show leads them in one direction and uses such to call them a particular frame that resonates with a particular audience for the purpose of calling them such. "why do you hate america" or "terrorist sympathizer" yada yada yada.
Olbermann on the otherhand show of the lies and deceit of O'Reilly and various others and labels them accordingly in a fashion not to frame or demonize but to mock. However I will say that he does demonize Bush and Dick - rightfully so.

Olbermann is pretty much O'Reilly on the left. The humerous thing about it is he does the same kind of tactics, has the same smug full of himself attitude, and spins and hyperbole's just as bad as O'Reilly...

...however, since he's doing it in regards to things those on the left agree with he's looked at as being "intelligent" and "more fair" than the Right and "he speaks the truth" and "doesn't spin" and other such BS.

Some people have issues seeing beyond their ass since their head's so far up it.

O'Reilly "calls out" those on the left when they're "wrong", when they "mess up", and when they "spin". He "demonizes" them and talks down on them to "show the truth". Naturally, many on the left believe that all to be BS.

Olbermann does the exact same damn thing, but because he's doing it against those on the right, somehow he's just magically completely different and soooooooo much better.

Their both pointless blowhards that do nothing but push their own agenda in the name of semi-news.

Actually, for me, the reason I have tended to prefer Olberman to O'Reilly is not that Olberman is left, but because Olberman is more entertaining. O'Reilly is largely boring, Olberman usually has some good, funny stuff on each show.

I won't watch any more, at least for awhile, after last nights show, since his attacks on McCain where a perfect example of what I think is wrong with politics today...but even then, I still got some chuckles from the show.

Being informed =/= knowing what you're talking about, as knowing what you're talking about also requires a rational synthesis of the information being used, and when the synthesis ceases to be driven by rationality and instead with knee jerk moralism then the consequence is the person has no idea what they're talking about.

If you think there's a lick of difference between their respective gasbaggery, whichever one you happen to prefer, then you've got inch-thick indeological blinders on.

They're both wastes of perfectly good air, and they're both part and parcel of the sickening rancor in the country.

obvously i know the right answer to everything and if you dont agree its because your an idiot.

Also i thought oreilly was a newspresenter not a subject that is so important its a constant news story.I wouldnt mind so much but sometimes its over the most petty things.
