Fox Devoted 57 Segments To Manufactured ACA Scandal

Please document those thousands of lies you mentioned.

Huh?

Please make good on your claim/lie and then we will talk about just how many times Obama actually said the lie "you can keep your plan"....or are you now contending that he told the truth? Those 22 million who had their plan scrapped were the liars and not your community organizer. isn't that what the lying slithering "terrorists" screaming Harry Reid tried to sell? They all lied?

And then how many copies of the law were printed...it in itself is a lie, claiming a tax is not a tax but is when the Supreme court is involved...

So, how about this lie, this thread which is a deliberate intent to deceive, a lie, a falsehood, a misdirection, dishonesty.....the one where you have conveniently chosen NOT to even try to back up. Total bull****.

We both know it isn't coming, you can no more document this bull**** than Obama can claim, as he tried, to say "I never said that..."

If its from US democrats, it's BULL****! They are constitutionally incapable of being honest in any way.

Stop it!

It is not a "complete joke" its an outright ****ing lie, told by liars about liars...to be an Obama democrat, lying comes first and foremost, the main tool in their arsenal to keep their overpaid jobs and protect a sniveling, arrogant, incompetent slithering misfit who tells the truth only by accident.

This is the most disgusting display of "democracy" on the ****ing planet.....the Obama democrats are like the Russian Soviets, lie, exaggerate, lie, fabricate and say thre opposite of the truth...noi matter how many lives are ruined.

This method of making law is what happens most of the time and not some new or unique trait of an "Obama" demorat, whatever that is in your mind. Can you explain how the thousands of lines of "loopholes" were placed into the federal income tax code by "Obama" demorats? Crickets'...

Congress critters do what it takes to get them campaign cash - if that means holding their nose and voting the DNC (or RNC) way then they will do just that. Calling that action a joke (a mere mockery of being a representative of your electorate) or a crime makes no difference; the remedy is the same - the people are ultimately screwed, the bad law stands and our only recourse is to try to get better congress critters "next time".

"Manufactured". Excellent!

I have to hand it to you pete. You're one hell of a foot soldier.

A foot soldier who's credibility has decayed and blew away a long time ago. And look another Media Matters blog link. How precious!

Did Obama do this or not?

I appreciate your elaborate version of "Bush did it too" but that too is misleading when you backed a liar who promised "hope and change, I have never understood you guys and comparisons to previous presidents, all your are saying is he is the worst of all that came before, or at least, just as bad.

Slow down there, Skippy. Not once did I mention presidents (except to point out that you did); yes - they are often lying too but that is neither here nor there. The point, and only point that I made, was that your outrage over this particular instance of political BS (lying to hide true motives) is not some new thing at all but simply how most federal legislation is passed.

Taking something simple, like taxation of income from all sources, and then contorting that into taxing income based on how it was later spent (and upon who) requires political BS to get-r-done. I doubt that you, or anyone for that matter, can show us when the accelerated depletion schedule or many of our goofy laws were honestly and openly debated.

but generally accelerated depreciation methods are used for tax purposes only.

Depreciation, Amortization, Depletion

They're tired of patting each other on the butts over there.

Its a circle jerk of left wing rhetoric and delusion over there.

As explained below, Obamacare passage was the most transparent in recent memory.

This week Fox News devoted at least 57 segments to scandalizing MIT economist Jonathan Gruber's statement that the Affordable Care Act (ACA) "was written in a tortured way" in a renewed effort to delegitimize the passage of health care reform.

Gruber, who helped craft and provided data for various ACA provisions, can be heard in a recently surfacedvideo saying that the health care law "was written in a tortured way" to minimize criticism. Gruber was making the innocuous observation that Congress often crafts legislation to fit rules and politically acceptable limits, and in the case of the ACA, Congress went on to transparently debate the law for years.

But Fox News seized on Gruber's comment to manufacture a scandal surrounding the ACA's passage, pretending his remarks show the law was passed deceitfully. According to a Media Matters count, this week alone the network devoted at least 57 segments to trumpeting this fictional account.

Of course, as New York Times economics correspondent Neil Irwin explained, Gruber's comment illustrated the "completely commonplace" way that "Congress makes policy of all types." Irwin went on, "Legislators frequently game policy to fit the sometimes arbitrary conventions by which the Congressional Budget Office evaluates laws and the public debates them."

The Senate held years of bipartisan hearings on health care reform before the ACA was passed, explaining in part why, as The New Republic described, the debate over the health care law was "one of the most transparent in recent memory," and why the law was so difficult to pass.

Um...the cat that wrote the damn bill admitted that it was a fraud. How can you look at yourself in the mirror, and defend these squirrels?

His loyalty is to the Democrat party and everything that that entails. I guess that would include Media Matters.

Which would include the lies, the misrepresentations and the general consensus that they think American voters are idiots.

Yes, Fox is having a ball with it. We all know that the government lies to us and defrauds us all the time. It is very entertaining to see someone caught providing the details. If Fox hadn't exposed it, nobody would have. Good for them.

The most transparent in recent memory?????????????

I don't care how much of a tool you are, don't you realize that no sentient person can do anything other than laugh hysterically at that claim?

The coverage should be 24/7. A mere 57 times simply doesn't do it justice.

And while I'm at it... where the hell is the rest of the media? Why is a story about the despicable way our government goes about it's business something to sweep under the rug under the guise of "oh well, that's just the way it's done"? Why the apathy? Because sometime in the past something similar was done?

What kind of a ****ed up government are we creating for the next generation when we set precedents like this?

Notice how he hasn't even documented the claims when called to do so.

Media matters is a fraudulent tool for tools to have something to say, accuracy is not at all relevant so long as something other than the continued bad news a suddenly beleagured president has to find a way to fend off. The lies are so compound now, the only ammo of the left is more false rhetoric and sneering at Republicans.

They debated the bill on TV and the legislation was posted on the internet. What do you want besides that?

None of this is about the debate though. The debate happens after the law is written. This has to do with the process of writing/designing the law. This is the part that happens in the back rooms out of the public eye.

What seems clear to me is that the democrats are hopeful that the map for the 2016 congressional elections weigh in their favor, HOWEVER, with little tid bit, I suspect that every Dem senator that voted for this crap will be held accountable. I predict that the GOP will pick up even more seats in both the senate and the house, and perhaps even the WH. The ACA is on life support, and has about two years of oxygen left, and the GOP will hammer this home that it will make this years election seem minor. I see ads now saying look, look what your senator voted for, look how they really feel about you. You're too stupid to know what's good for you.

Hehe.. I think that in all honesty Hillary might not even run, because lets face it, she really has no chance. He record as the first lady, Sec of State, and of course trying to live down all her comments about how great Obamacare is/was is going to sink her and ANY dem that doesn't run "for" repealing Obamacare. THAT is the political reality.
