No, they do not -- at least not yet, and probably not ever. The right wing media wants people to believe that they do, but their execution of that deception is childish at best. Which is, if I may float a pun based on other recent childish headlines, par for the course ;)
 
I wonder how Obama is going to respond to this when his newspaper boy gives him his daily brief on domestic and world affairs?

Pretty much. Classic "shoot first, ask questions later" strategy. They'll accuse Democrats of doing something and THEN try to find evidence, by which time they've built a witch hunt. But that's all they need to fill the media's headlines with anti-Democrat rhetoric.

Nice dodge, but you gave yourself away in that last line you wrote. You just admitted you're an "ends justifies the means" liberal that has no problem with the government lying to congress, to the American people and covering up the truth, nor do you have a problem with the media ignoring that truth, as long as it supports/protects the political agenda you embrace.

As long as it bodes well for the politicians you support, you couldn't care less what the government does and that's just sad.

Oh, I disagree that they still exist anywhere, except perhaps as some fluke (a 3-4 year old backup tape that fell behind a cabinet).

The thread is based upon half-baked propaganda, nothing more, nothing less, nothing new to observers of right wing media. At least the thread is in the correct forum, but not in the way that the OP intended ;)

Reading thru some of the posts in this thread - it is exactly as I stated in my earlier post.

Liberals want accountability for Republicans, and Republicans want accountability for Democrats - but neither side wants accountability for government, and at the end of the day, after much gorilla dust is kicked up, nothing will be done to bring the government and the ideologues who populate it, under control.

Some Republicans sincerely want limited, accountable government - but the vast majority of Republicans couldn't care less; and no Democrat cares about limted, responsible, accountable government. America is sick and dying... this is just a microcosm.

Nothing will happen to Lois "I am utter filth" Lerner, just as nothing will be done to stop the expansion and abuse of government by ideologues who believe that capitalism is the enemy, and that liberty is only for whom they say is deserving.

It is truly sickening to see what has become of my once proud, and once free nation.

This is government corruption we're talking about. In fact I understand they are supposed back up e-mails now, yet all the corruption gets lost. And you want to make it easier for them so they can be more corrupt.

Dave is a liberal - liberals don't care about corruption... we have how many liberal, democrat dominated cities to attest to that?? Not surprisingly, he took over from a corrupt Democrat who left our state in as dismal a state as the thieves who robbed Milwaukee County blind - only on the state level, the criminal enterprise he had to take on was the teachers union. Walker put an end to their thievery - for the time being... unfortunately, democrats are like **** roaches - very tough to kill off.

The media not only did not cover any of the crimes committed by the Democrats - they've been engaged in a nonstop misinformation campaign against Walker... it's truly despicable.

A few valid points, but mostly over the top. In this particular case, it's much ado about nothing -- some actions that can be spun to look bad if one is sufficiently partisan or sufficiently anti-government (and those people really aren't anti-goverment, they just want to do away with the parts of it that they've been told not to like -- such as the IRS).

Your nation has some problems, but they are not the ones being blasted 24/7 in talk media (the TV, radio, and internet versions). And the IRS is not one of them, beyond the way their regulations have been politicized by special interests with deep pockets. The nation's actual problems are more caused by the monied oligarchy that runs not only the country but the world than by government which, in its pure form, is merely an extension of society as whole (currently most governments are an extension of the monied oligarchy that buys the politicians that run them). If you get the corporate money out of the politicians' pockets then you'll have a responsible government. Good luck with that ;)
