I will no longer watch any t.v. show including mainstream talk shows or pay to see any movie where the "Star(s)" are liberal progressives speaking out against non-democrats.

You all can speak out against Fox cable news being biased but if you fail to also speak out about MSNBC being biased I won't be able to give you any credibility .

Fair is fair.

IMO, MSNBC on whole is more biased then Fox because other than "Morning Joe", their cable news programs attempt to do nothing more than bash anyone who disagrees with liberal views and gives no credence at all to opposing views only doing what Progressives do best(following their manta) call republicans, libertarians, moderates liars and only having an agenda that attempts to target average American taxpayers/the middle class.

Well as I see it when they held the Presidency and both the House and Senate they did little to expand jobs, bail-out the taxpayers. And only helped the large Banks, large Corporations while continuing to waste money on worthless "shovel ready jobs" where they didn't exist.

I would love to see an accounting of the Trillions of dollars spent under Democrats leadership. But, that will never happen this type of transparency doesn't exist. So much for Obamas promise full transparency. It is the same old BS as always.

I doubt the Federal Government is even capable of giving an accounting of where all the money in the past 5 years was spent and for what.

Odd that they can commit to loaning the Ukraine billions of dollars when they continually have to increase the debt ceiling to pay our committed obligations or can't pay SS payments, have to cut off welfare and the like.

What a crock of you know what.

Guess we are going to borrow at the taxpayers future expense to "loan" the Ukraine money?

Oh, rats. I'm sure Hollyweird is going to miss your 30 bucks a month.

As an unabashed liberal, I agree with you. Fox is biased; MSNBC is biased. They're both worthless.

Fox's idea of giving credence to liberal views is bringing on milquetoast pushovers like Alan Colmes and Juan Williams, who put up a semblance of a fight and then agree with the host.

I don't know what the mirror opposite of "progressive" is, but if it exists, it is embodied in Sean Hannity. He calls liberals, progressives, Democrats "liars" basically for a living.

Well as I see it when they held the Presidency and both the House and Senate they did little to expand jobs, bail-out the taxpayers. And only helped the large Banks, large Corporations while continuing to waste money on worthless "shovel ready jobs" where they didn't exist.

You're right, the stimulus package was basically a giant tax break for BigCorp. And the bank bailout was basically shoveling handfuls of government cash to banks that dicked up royally and encouraged them to do it all over again. Damn that Barack Obama for signing off on the bank bailout.

Except that was George W. Bush who bailed out the banks, and thank jeebus he did, because "too big to fail" is real. Democrats and Republicans share equal blame in allowing our financial system to get fully out of control, and blaming it all on "progressives" (as you seem to be doing) is remarkably naive.

I would love to see an accounting of the Trillions of dollars spent under Democrats leadership. But, that will never happen this type of transparency doesn't exist. So much for Obamas promise full transparency. It is the same old BS as always.

Obama's promise of "full transparency" was a crock. He might have meant it when he was campaigning (I doubt he did), but the realism hit him as soon as he hit office. Just like his "promise" to close Guantanamo. Yeah, that worked out well.

That said, what about the trillions wasted under Republicans? Was that OK? Both parties are responsible for this mess.

I doubt the Federal Government is even capable of giving an accounting of where all the money in the past 5 years was spent and for what.

FIVE? That's your mark of delineation? Do you realize that SIX POINT SIX BILLION DOLLARS magically vanished in Iraq in 2004 and to this day, nobody knows where the **** it went? You think the government flushing money down the toilet is a new thing?

Odd that they can commit to loaning the Ukraine billions of dollars when they continually have to increase the debt ceiling to pay our committed obligations or can't pay SS payments, have to cut off welfare and the like.

So we loan Ukraine money, and people bitch. If we didn't, people say we're leaving them out to dry.

What a crock of you know what.

I dunno, you tell me. You're the one going off all half-cocked.

Guess we are going to borrow at the taxpayers future expense to "loan" the Ukraine money?

Yup.

Do you know who holds the majority of U.S. debt?

Oh, and while we're on the subject, you go ahead and bitch about TV shows and movies. Conservatives own talk radio, but that apparently Doesn't Count when we're whining about "The Media." And the idea that Hollywood is "liberal" is a crock. You mean to tell me there's no "conservative" movies? Please.

Anecdotally, this might be some good news: My wife (very conservative) has started watching the Oscar Awards again and allows our oldest daughter to watch them with her. She has mentioned to me that the last few years have been very different: No see- through gowns, no obviosuly drunk or drugged people accepting awards, and most importantly no leftist socio political commentary, jokes, manifestos etc. .

Dont get me wrong, I dont think the people have changed. Rather, I bet that studio executives have realized that they could sell more movies if they did not go out of their way to alienate 50% of the population of the USA.

They may even need to sell more movies as movies maybe a declining source of entertainment for Americans while the costs of producing them have grown. As a result, they copuld have passed the word that there is going to be a "return to elegence". Anybody caught acting up and deliberatlty alienating millions of potential ticket buyers would be blacklisted from future roles, directing etc.

Though I fully agree with your imoplied beleif that Obama is moving us in the direction of Greece and that we cannot afford to have "Greece, the sequel" playing here, the loans to Ukraine might be credits and not truly loans.

The credits would be for things that Ukraine needs and that are manufactured here in the USA. As a result, the Ukrainians might be able use their own money to pay creditors, while spending money on needed US products. This helps Ukraine and returns money to the US economy.

Which would be a valid premise, if they had ever done that in the first place.

So what if Sean Penn or George Clooney doesn't like Republicans. They'll still act in some war porn movie that conservatives seem to love if it gets them a paycheck.

As for the possible "dont go out of your way to alienate potential consumers" order, I have heard rumors that Hollywood has considered experimenting with conservative oriented movies and even released a few films towards that market.

My guess is that American interest in movies is still huge, but slowly declining. Remember when stars were household names, sequels were announced on national news and everybody watched the Oscars with rapt interest? Those days seem to be gone and have been replaced by "the net" and millions of electronic things. As a result, the studios need conservative market share. So, they issue orders (indirectly) to tone the leftist manifestos and "shock gowns" down.

As for the irony of conservatives buying war porn produced by liberal stars, it works both ways. Many actors may dislike guns- unless the particular guns are used as props in high earning block buster movies. These same guns, however, nspire some additional gun sales on the outside.

Actually a great number of conservative values in blockbusters.

Oscars had the largest audience in decade this year. How many people watched the 2014 Oscars? 43 million, the most in 10 years.

Seriously????? that is an hilarious position.

While I agree with you that MSNBC is more biased to the left/liberal/democrat than Fox is to the right/conservative/republican that is only because Fox has less talk shows. Fox’s news is quite good, daytime Fox News as I usually switch between them and CNN and except this last three weeks when CNN has been all Malaysia Airlines, they pretty much give a good accounting of the news. The only reason MSNBC is more biased is they have more talk TV shows at night.

As for TV programming and the movies, watch what you want. I don’t give a hoot about the political views held by those who appear in them, only that they are entertaining and I enjoy watching them. I am not talking talk shows here, I am talking prime time TV to include reruns and going to the movies or watching them on tape or DVD. I figure the actors and actresses have as much right to express their political views as anyone else. All I want from them is a good job of acting in the TV program or movies they appear in. I don’t give a hoot if the like or dislike the president.

The way I see it, if someone lets one of these actors or actresses make up their mind about their politics then they have a pretty shallow mind and are incapable of making up their own minds. They have to be told what to believe in or not to believe in. That is their problem.

You’re right, AM radio talks shows seem all to be conservative. But I only listen to the Braves on radio and not to their shows. TV, from about the 70’s I would say quite a lot of the prime time shows had a liberal bias, but some were quite good and funny. If one can’t tell the difference between entertainment and politics, well…

Now I think Hollywood for the most part is liberal and it shows in some of the movies they make. But again, the question is do we go to the movies to be entertained or do we go to the movies to watch politics? Movies are just that, movies. They do not have to be accurate as they are just fiction, it is true some masquerade or try to as to telling a true story, but even if based on fact or a person who actually lived, the movie is still some writer’s idea of what went on. Unless it is a historical documentary, these movies are all for entertainment. I say take them as such.

what Progressives do best

and what do conservatives do best?

From this posting it appears that it might involve calling themselves "moderate" while prattling on with all the usual hackneyed claptrap about those blasted libruls and progressives in a veritable orgy of partisanship lacking intellect.

Just like Uncle Rush taught you.

For Hollywood. Yes. Your intuition was correct. Not sure why you wanted to illuminate your ignorance of the fact.
Evidently for yours too. I'd expect a Fox link from a neocon.

Damn those Hollywood lubruls and their forcing their political views down our throats. Between Clint Eastwood,Sonny Bono, Fred Thompson and Ronald Reagan, I've had QUITE enough of that sort of stuff.

The OP doesn't match the title of the thread.

What would they have to do for you to consider them liberal?

Next time, try doing a little bit of research before going into "mocking mode". Movie ticket sales are down. U.S. Population is rising. So, yes it appears that Americans are gradually losing interest in movies.

The Numbers - Movie Market Summary 1995 to 2014
As such, it is not entirely impossible that studio directors have encouraged their employees and contractors not to give needless offense to any potential customers.

When a market declines, every customer becomes more important. Thus, the possible encouragement not to give needless offense to conservatives. Sounds crazy huh?

Any chance that the increase in viewers coincided with a possible decline in acceptance speeches turning into political manifestos, obviously drunk awardees, biting partisan humor / "humor" and see through gowns?

Of course, I dont know the answer to that question, but I wont rule out the connection. Heck, decrease the amount of needless offense during any event and there is the potential to attract customers who might not of gone otherwise. TV viewers are customers.
So you want it both ways.

Want it both ways? No, I was just pointing out that the irony works both ways. I dont really have an interest in movies one way or the other.

Most people don't give a hoot. Just trying to raise the question and make people think about it. Not trying to make waves.
