Covering Up Dem Corruption

I hope you are not too terribly disappointed to learn that city officials will not garner the same national attention as a governor who seeks (and has attained) national attention. Prior to the scandal, he was a viable presidential candidate.

I would think acceptance of bribes would be a bigger scandal than the closure of some traffic lanes in which the governor played no role. He remains a viable candidate, and a more-than-plausible POTUS.:peace

Maybe. His office definitely did.

Individuals within the office.:peace

:agree: If the Governor of a State can be blamed for what the people that report to his office do, then shouldn't the POTUS be blamed for what the people that report to his office do? Fair is fair, so why should there be a difference?

Good evening, Jack. :2wave:

Good evening, Polgara.:2wave:

Accountability goes to the top and Christie has accepted that. But political blame is something else, harder to define and pin down. That allows political maneuver and damage control.:peace

Sorry, but a city official accepting bribes, which should play well locally, is no where near the national scandal of abuse of power by a national figure who was once considered a good candidate for POTUS.... I am sorry that distinction is lost on you.

You would have a better point if there were any evidence at all that the national figure was involved.:peace

He was either directly involved or an incompetent manager; either way, his being in the cross hairs given his stature as a candidate for POTUS is appropriate. Either way, if it isn't a mortal wound to his presidential ambitions, it certainly is a life-threatening (politically) wound.

Remember, the people that were involved are not New Jersey civil servants but members of his inner circle. If he didn't know what was going on (which would be one level of managerial incompetence, he fostered a culture where his direct reports thought this was ok. Even if he is cleared of criminal wrong-doing, the questions of his managerial ability and his reputation as a bit of a NJ thug will linger.

At this point Governor Chunk Chunky could carry maybe New Jersey in a national election.
Go ahead and run the corrupt, petty, vindictive asshole bully.
Most of the republicon core hate his guts anyway because he praised the President after the federal response to Sandy.

You mean all the witnesses who have come forward? Oh... There hasn't been any...

You must mean the all the emails, texts and documents then? Crap, none of those either...

So what exactly is it that you've seen?

An "R" after his name.

and would be a Republican today....that is my point you can't compare a 19th century democrat with one today. The party has changed.
But you still think Democrat=liberal....so.....

No, all he would need to see is the Democrats support for the wholesale abortion of Black Babies and he would be all-in Democrat.

The squirming of a bullying official who is known to have complete control of his office. He can't blame his minions because everyone knows Christie was the boss.

OK, sure... now everyone knows Obama is boss... let's discuss ATF Fast&Furious, State Department failings in Benghazi, IRS targeting of Tea Party groups in the lead up to the 2012 election, Justice Department spying on the AP, Justice Department spying on James Rosen, NSA Spying on everyone...

Thank you for your recitation of DNC talking points. Sadly for you, none of that is true.:peace

These are nothing more than Republican distortion, distraction and deception. They deserve nothing more than brief denials.

... Justice Department spying on the AP, Justice Department spying on James Rosen, NSA Spying on everyone...

Standard operating practice for all administrations ... and the AP probably deserved it. It's little more than a right wing propaganda mill masquerading as a news source.
