Thread: Why FOX News Has Higher Ratings

You do know why FOX has higher ratings than MSNBC don't you? It's because the right is more interested and supportive of hyperbola than is the left.

Stuff like this makes Liberals sleep better at night, but in actually, LIBERALS are the reason FOX has higher ratings...

This is from Howard Stern's movie "Private Parts"...

The average radio listener listens for eighteen minutes. The average Howard Stern fan listens for - are you ready for this? - an hour and twenty minutes.

How can that be?

Answer most commonly given? "I want to see what he'll say next."

Okay, fine. But what about the people who hate Stern?

Good point. The average Stern hater listens for two and a half hours a day.

But... if they hate him, why do they listen?

Most common answer? "I want to see what he'll say next."

Libs like to BELIEVE that conservatives sit around all day listening to FOX and getting their talking points, but in reality, it's LIBERALS that sit around all day waiting to pounce on anything said on the channel...

Obviously, this is not to say Liberals are the overwhelming reason they have high ratings...But it's the reason they have high-ER ratings...

If 1000 Conservatives want to get the Liberal viewpoint, they can go to ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, or CNN...Spread evenly, that's 200 Conservative viewers on EACH Liberal news outlet...

But if 1000 Liberals want to get the Conservative viewpoint, they have ONE news outlet to go to...and that's it...FOX News gets all 1000...

I've been accused any number of times of getting my talking points from Limbaugh or Fox. I rarely listen to either. What I perceive as common sense, liberals dismiss as "talking points." One can tell the difference between a poster who's knowledgeable about a subject and one that's just meming what he/she's heard on biased news. At least I think so...

There have been times that I have listened to a speaker or heard a song or read a book and it just "fit" me.

Listening to the major networks became a chore for me at about the time of 9/11. i will never forget Peter Jennings bemoaning the fact that Bush was in the air in Air force One instead of addressing the nation. I remember that he dismissively said that some presidents are "good at this" and some are not. My immediate reaction was that this guy's an idiot. That was the last time I sought news from ABC. It's the same type of tripe from all of them, though.

I thought that David Brinkley's Sunday Morning show was great and rivaled by NBC's Sunday morning with Tim Russert. What those shows have turned into is enough to make a guy cry.

It was during the 9/11 coverage that I happened on to FOX News as I bounced between all of the news channels. Brit Hume was the guy that hooked me specifically for his show, but then i just kind of stuck there.

What the Liberal outlets are peddling is so biased and so jaundiced that It's just difficult to listen to.

I watch fox quite a bit, besides the really good looking women I do find it interesting to find out about what 1/2 of the US thinks. It give me perspective. I also listen to Rush a lot of days when I am off work. What I have found so funny is this: If I hear Rush talk about something during the day, even if it is something that just happened that day or a new concept or something, I see it that night on my far right wing forums I hang out on. I hear it at the Legion and or the local bar I hang out at. Yet almost no one besides me admits to listening to or watching them. Why is that, afraid of being labeled a ditto head?

I am sitting here right now watching Fox and was before it came up, it is like an infomercial for Romney. Fair and balanced it aint.

All the others have liberal bias.

My doctor won't allow me to watch MSNBC.

Because there is only one conservative/Republican network - FOX - and there are a dozen progressive/Democrat networks all having to compete with each other. Thus FOX has the most viewers for lack of competition, but definitely not over half of all viewers. Most people watch the station they most agree with.

Liberal/Democrat radio (ie "Air America") failed because businesses won't buy ads on a radio broadcast cursing business. Many if not most MSNBC talking heads came from the defunct Air America.

Fox is a right wing infomercial. You surely cannot believe it is fair and balanced.
