The nerve of the New York Times in exposing an insurance company that was abusing our service members! Who do they think they are? LOL
So the same newspaper that helps our enemies also helped our own service members. Go figure.
This company, The American Amicable Life Insurance Company (which is based in Waco, Texas--not far from good ol' Crawford, Texas, where Bush has his ranch (and where Cindy Sheehan bought property)), has settled an investigation that they used deceptive sales to sell "unsuitable insurance products to thousands of American service members." It looks like there were 70,000 service members who were victims.
Interestingly enough, the investigation into this company began "
after articles in the New York Times documented widespread and longstanding abuses in the sale of insurance, mutual funds and other financial products to young, financially unsophisticated service members." This company is banned from selling insurance policies on military bases for 5 years, which is the longest suspension ever imposed.

The American Amicable Life Insurance Company has agreed to pay up to $70 million to settle state and federal complaints that it used deceptive sales practices to sell unsuitable insurance products to thousands of American service members across the country and on bases overseas. . . . http://www.nytimes.com/2006/08/04/bu...ry.html?ref=us |
So those of you who claim that the New York Times is a traitor, what do you think about what they did for these service members?
