Lexis Nexis Reveals Bias

I just got curious and did a search on Lexis Nexis for news stories in print during the last week on:

1) the Marines allegedly shooting people in Haditha. I used the words, "Haditha," "Marines," and "kill."-Result: 266 articles.

2) mass graves unearthed in Iraq (they were discovered 3 weeks ago). I used the words, "Iraq," "Saddam," and "mass graves."-Result: 5 articles.

3) another terror cell being broken up, this time in Canada that was targeting Canada's capital with ammonium nitrate bombs (and possibly ours). I used the words, "terror," "arrest," and "Canada."-Result: 87 articles, more than 95% of which were from Australian, British, and Canadian papers...our print media largely ignored it.

Maybe the Left's continuous accusation that Bush is governing through fear is based on the fact that our media is too consumed with trashing America to inform them that there REALLY IS a threat.

This could be it. What the left has been looking for, something they can use to finally cause the US to lose in Iraq. Then they can take control of the government. Regardless of the consequences.

your study isn't very well conducted.

and this isn't the first time mass graves have been found, that reduces the outrage factor. plus even before the first mass graves were found we knew they existed.

The fact that 38 bodies were found in a mass grave attributable to Saddam's regime kind of pales in significance to the fact that this kind of thing is going on in Iraq today on a daily basis, at least in terms of being newsworthy.

I don't get it? I thought you right wingers would be happy to find bad news about Iraq on the back pages?

If this item was on the front page, you'd be screaming liberal news bias.

Which is pretty much a typical day in Iraq. What a wonderful result that Bush's little social experiment has created. A nice little terrorist training ground for the next generation of radical islamists.

I mean do you not get it. If it were on the front page, it would make the war effort look worse, not better.

You "Personal Responsibility" guys never take responsibility for anything. The Democrats control nothing right now. We have a Republican government with Republican Policies, and we are prosecuting the war in Iraq with Republican Policies. If we fail in Iraq, it will be a failure of Republican Policies. Things going bad there right now are a failure of Republican policies.

You are trying bad news on the messenger, instead of the people responsible for the decisions that resulted in those events.

Even though I'm a conservative Republican, I have to admit that putting that story on the back page is NOT an example of liberal media bias, but there ARE zillions of legitimate examples of liberal media bias.
