"Muffin-gate Update: Many Outlets Fail To Correct Half-Baked Allegation"

•Fox News and Fox Business pushed $16-muffin story the most out of any cable channel (Bill O'Reilly, in particular, on Fox News' The O'Reilly Factor), but no Fox program available in the Nexis database has broadcast a follow-up segment reporting the IG's retraction.

•CBS and NBC both reported the initial $16 figure from the IG but have not broadcast a follow-up story about the IG's retraction.

•USA Today ran a short article reporting the $16 figure but has not reported on the IG's retraction.

•The Washington Post ran the initial story on the front page while running all subsequent follow-ups, including the IG's retraction, inside the paper.

Which is a bit high considering what they got, but hardly like $16 per muffin. But notice something here...not a single hack has posted. Not one.
The Senate Republican Leadership thinks that forcing people to take responsibility for their own healthcare is worse than giving the Federal Government to right to lock up anyone at any time on trumped up charges.

And who would that be? The OP cites two liberal news sources that ran with the story. They also cite FNC. But it's only FNC that being held to the fire for this. It seems liberals on this thread are giving their liberal media a pass, which says a lot more than the conservatives on this forum not getting into a pissing contest with a bunch of whiney liberals who want to play a 3rd grade game of "Media gotcha."

Correction: Not the OP, the top post on this page, from nota bene.

Am I responsible for what others post here? Notice my post was a generic reference to media, I did not single fox or anyone out, nor did I make any kind of partisan reference in any way.

Not only are you barking up the wrong tree, but you are quoting me to complain abut a post made after mine? Pull your panties out of your butt crack and point your butthurt partisan whining some other direction.

We saw the same problem with climategate, ACORN, etc. Tons of coverage about the controversy, little to nothing about the exoneration.

There's a reason I always say there isn't so much a political bias in most of the media, but a financial one. Exoneration is boring. Scandal is sexy. Guess which one sells more papers?

Nobody has given anybody a pass. Fox News gets more flak because they're the ones who were the most rabid on their coverage about it.
