Glenn Beck yesterday, addressed the accusations made by Arianna Huffington on ABC's "This Week". (or as Glenn calls her, "Media Matters" after a few drinks)

In a conversation with Roger Ailes, she asked him if he was concerned about the language that Glenn Beck was using, and said that Beck was "inciting the American people" when he "talks about people being slaughtered".

This segment is from yesterdays program. Watch and learn how the far left attack machine operates.

Arriana is a former righty that went left. She even campaigned for her husband a big conservative and wrote for the National Review. I think she's an attention whore now.

I actually watched Beck's show last night, for the first time. Prior to last night I had only seen bits of it, and while I doubt I'll make his show regular viewing this clip and the rest of show were in fact spot on as regards the accuracy of so much said about him. He quite thoroughly debunked Huffington as the biased liars and smear merchants they are. In fact it reminded me of just about every anti Beck thread I've seen here at DP, which ain't a good thing.

Unfortunately there are web sites that claim to check facts or they check media accuracy and some of them adhere to the Rules for Radicals and othe propaganda guide books including things that Hitler is quoted as saying.

"Tell A lie often enough and eventually it will be believed."

"Plant a false claim or story, then later come back and use your own lies as corroboration of you next lie or statement."
This one is one Obama and all his worshipers love to use.

Most of what Beck says if you will go back and check all the posts here on BP you will find that either I or someone else posted first from doing our own checking of history and the facts. So far I find Beck a bit overly emotional but other than that he's been pretty accurate.

Arianna Huffington is a waste of space and air she's no better than Chris Mathews, or Keith Obermann when it comes to being Obama kiss asses.

Quite some time ago I took Danarhea to task for posting something about how often Beck cries. I guess I owe Danny an apology, because it does appear that Beck cries at the drop of a hat! I take it back Danny, you were right!

I find him a bit too emotional too, and given to far too much hyperbole for my taste. I met him once here at the Clear Channel headquarters about ten years ago when he just had a radio show and I can say his radio/Tv shows today barely resemble what I heard from him back then. Let us just say he was a lot calmer back then. Just one reason it will probably be a while before I watch again. However, the vast majority of anti Beck threads and posts I have read here and elsewhere have been just idiotic regurgitations of Media Matters drivel or salacious but vacuous allegations that involve whole sale lying and fabrication, and willful suspension of intellectual honesty. Which is pretty much a summation of what it is Media Matters does.

Speaking of hyperbole, are you trying to speak to someone here Hazelnut? Is that supposed to be a picture of Beck someone drew on a napkin at a bar? Looks more like Conan O'Brian with his hair combed to me. But other than that, uhm...great post. Sure why not.

I believe hazlnut should be thanking me here. I posted this before he got a chance to post the Media Matters story about this, saving him the embarrassment of looking like a fool.

You really want to talk about looking like a FOOL??

Okay, let's got to the video, shall we...

0:25 Seconds in -- This idiot says he usually doesn't bother responding to attacks from the left... Are you freaking kidding me?? Is he joking, trying to be ironic... I don't think so. Beck is so deluded he actually forgets how many hours a week he devotes to defending himself. Just look at how many threads Grim has posted with Beck defending himself... I would LOL, but that first statement by Beck just makes me gape in disbelief at the deluded rodeo clown....

  • 0:36 - He attempts the moronic "ratings = credibility" argument. Really, because the WWE wins the cable ratings every week and that's fake...
  • 1:00 - mocks MSNBC "already dead"... Ego masking an inferiority complex.
  • 1:12 - Plays the Huffington/Ailes tape and begins making his case
  • 2:40 - plays the referenced segments and begins paraphrasing what he said.

This about where Beck goes full-retard--defending the analogy by claiming that he didn't mean "literally" Obama was going to go to flight school and fly a plane into the ground...

Yes, Mr. McCries-on-Cue, we know Obama is not pilot. But you were making a figurative statement using rhetorical language to communicate to your audience what Obama had in store for them. We get it.

What's particularly disturbing is Beck chose the imagery of a pilot "intentionally steering it into the trees"... He used that word: Intentionally. Who else intentionally crashes planes into tall things like trees and building? Terrorists. Does this asshole really think we didn't notice?

  • 3:45 - sidenote, at this point he makes a prediction that the downturn will "most likely" take place after Christmas. Oops. Good thing he's not on FOX Business.
  • 4:00 - more explaining the analogy between economy and plane crash... Yeah, yeah we get it... Ka-Boom. But then Beck goes off the range...

5:09 - "taking you to a place to be slaughtered"followed by a straw man argument mistaking how Huff framed what he said... In other words, Becks lies about how Huffington characterized the statement. She didn't. She just laid it out there.

  • 6:00 - then back to his ratings... (no wonder Grim is so obsessed with ratings lately, that's all his master talks about...)

Okay -- so let's recap -- he made an analogy about the economic policies of President Obama. In this analogy, the President is an airline pilot who is intentionally flying the plane into trees -- violent and horrible imagery, the President (pilot) is a mass murder of the passengers, (economy).

Disturbing, hyperbolic, not supported by facts at all, but we get that's how GB sees the President, as a terrorist. What a patriot!

BUT THEN -- the concluding statement "taking you to a place to be slaughtered." How does this relate to the previous analogy? It doesn't. The statement comes out of no where -- and when you put in the context of the far-fetched Nazi/communist conspiracy theories that pour like crap from this dummy's mouth...

What Beck is doing so inappropriate, so beyond the scope of political commentary... Honestly, it's Goddamn scary, Grim, that you can't see how pathetic his lies and scare tactics are.

Huff quoted him -- she was using a shorthand as the quote had been in the news and Ailes knew to what she was referring.

The quote is not out of context because the statement itself really came out of nowhere... How did it relate to the plane analogy?

Beck (and Grim's) attempt to show dishonesty of far-left = MASSIVE FAIL.

Beck's defense of the quote is beyond stupid.:2wave:

Why are you so obsessed with this guy? Are you so insecure in yourself that your whole E-Persona is a mascot for a clown on tv?

Wait, so Hazlnut does not have the right to respond to a thread about Glenn Beck?

Glenn Beck is a clown on TV, but he is a clown with a loyal audience that falls for his bull.

[*]3:45 - sidenote, at this point he makes a prediction that the downturn will "most likely" take place after Christmas. Oops. Good thing he's not on FOX Business.

HAH, yeah. because if there is one thing that hasn't happened it's Obama coming out with a bank tax and a series of tax hikes that have caused the stock market to drop 248 points in a single day.

Watch and learn how the far left attack machine operates.

It's against my principles to watch Beck if he's not crying.

So, does he cry in this episode of his soap opera?

Your attempt to play as if your rationalizations and generalizations above negate Huffinton's specific hyperbole/lies/mis-characterization does not negate the facts presented in the clip. Likewise your rationalization on behalf of Huffington illustrates that you have no problem with her doing the exact same crap you guys are always complaining Beck does, which is unintentionally hilarious. Yes pay no attention to what actually appears on the video, just let Hazelnut explain it all to you. Beck style. Chuckle.

I just love how you anti Beckites will whine and kvetch about the exact kind of behavior from Beck that you employ against him daily. I am dead certain not a one of you sees any hypocrisy or inconsistency in it either.:doh

This is really just all down to "short-hand" and speaking of short hand you will offer yours up for us eh Hazelnut? So you thought you would have a go at explaing how Beck is inciting the American people to slaughter! Despite the fact Beck explains exactly what he meant, we have your sanctimonious over the top attempt to do the same thing Huffington did with the buckle up, he is steering us (intentionally or unintentionally for that matter) into the trees, the ground, the abyss......... who cares? Oh you because do you can beat Huffinting at her own game! You can one up her rabid hyperlolic claims with your own! Why Beck is calling the POTUS a terrorist!! And using violent and horrible imagery, mass murder and damage to the economy!

Thank you for so completely illustrating the entire point of this thread, your own complete hypocrisy and inconsistency and just how much you anti Beckites really are the pot screaming angrily at the kettle.:applaud

Hazelnut's attempting to debunk Grim's thread about Beck debunking Huffington=FAIL

Extra Points awarded for preaching about people looking like deluded fools while trying to outdo Huffington and claim Beck was calling the POTUS a terrorist who wanted to kill and murder Americans=0

When Beck was exposing all this "dishonesty", was he putting onion juice in his eyes again?

I found out sometime ago I can view his prog on my satellite TV, to see what all the shouting was about I watched one prog, I needed counseling after. I have not had the feeling that I would like to rip anyones head off and piss in the hole for a long time.

If I embraced the ideology you did, I guess it would piss me off if someone was exposing it the way Beck does.

Progressivism is what it is... If you don't like what Beck is saying, then I think you need to examine your beliefs.

I'm a brit, he's a snake oil salesman, those who watch and agree are twerps:)

Beezles, do you have anything like this program over in the UK?

UK tv has a marked deficit of insane demagoguery from any quarter. Our nearest equivalent would be a Daily Heil editorial.

When Beck was exposing all this "dishonesty", was he putting onion juice in his eyes again?
Would it matter? You don't have to "like" Beck or watch or listen to Beck , you of course have the freedom to watch or listen to whomever ya want. If Maddow or Olbermann does it for you fine by me and I'm sure even Grim. Though it would be refreshing if you and other recent posters had addressed the actual topic and the raging hypocrisy that Beck seems to be able to trigger in his detractors. But then again, why admit that Beck gets slagged regularly and this is just one example, when you can complain about the way he presents his opinion? Why would you look at the OP and gasp...agree with Grim that at least here, Beck has a good point or two regarding Madam Huffington? When you can talk about how often Beck cries on camera (apparently all the time) or make fun of Grim for enjoying the Beck show? Ah well, I guess you and Bub could be trying to tell us how Huffington was off the mark, the man is actually calling the POTUS a terrorist and he wants to incite murder!

This very episode was the first time I have seen his Fox show, I admit I won't be watching another one anytime soon and he is not to my taste. That does not stop me from recognizing that he did indeed defend what he actually said versus what he was supposed to have said pretty well. Ah well, I guess hoping for more than what we have seen here in the thread is just asking too much. Never underestimate the desire for an insult drive over addressing the topic. This is the internet after all..........
