Looks like the sane news is marching to the peacock station.:2wave:

<She’s smart, funny, and, yes, hot. However, she is far from perfect and I have been critical of the way she manipulated her coverage of Donald Trump to her own career advantage, while withholding potentially vital information from her audience and the public domain until after her was elected president so as to better help her book promotion/sales.>

<First, let’s be clear that this is a promotion for Kelly. She will be making more money and reaching a larger, more diverse audience. However, a big part of why this happened was that a significant portion of the Fox News audience had been “turned off” by her general (though hardly universal) unwillingness to treat Trump as someone who was beyond significant criticism>

<The idea that Megyn Kelly, who is clearly right of center politically, could no longer “fit” at Fox News, despite strong ratings, is a pathetic indictment of how far off the cliff Fox News has drifted now that Sean Hannity and Julian Assange are now suddenly best buddies. It is also a testament to how much the audience of political-oriented media content is now “trained” to expect/accept nothing other than “information” which will act as affirmation for whatever it is that they wanted to believe in the first place.>

<Fox News watchers having a big problem with Kelly (and many of them do), is like fans of an NFL team calling on a member of their local broadcast crew to be fired because they refused to routinely deny when their team was turning the ball over.>

<It appears that Fox News is now taking the approach of a modern music radio station, where almost every program must play the same very limited number of “hit” songs within an extremely focused genre of content. The idea is to make sure that the core audience is never challenged or offended, and that way, especially when there are either enough attractive women, or videos of Trump, on the screen at all times, no one will ever turn them off (until, of course, the aging demographic they are targeting dies off).>

First paragraph about Kelly selling Kelly and everything else comes after is right.

The rest is hogwash.

EDIT: She might be making more that the $15 mil she makes now, this has not been disclosed. Pretty much nobody thinks Comcast is paying her the $20 mill FNC offered.

If I was an anti-Trump, anti-GOP, anti-right wing, anti-Fox News, dogmatic and brainwashed liberal that doesn't even attempt to control bias or reach for any concept of objectivity or honesty, I could have written that.

Do these fools not understand that the market is over saturated with that narrative? The least these people could do is come up with a different fable to tell. Reminds me of how Hollywood cant do much of anything new and interesting either.

Moldy oldie stories and ideas is what we get....have these people got any plans to upgrade?

IT'S 2017!

I can't come up with anything that says it better than that. :)

Yes, she is hot, and part of what makes her hot is her sharp mind.

I usually don't watch much Fox, but would tune in from time to time just to see her. My favorite episode is the one in which she asked Cheney such pointed questions that it almost reduced him to stuttering, clearly upset with the question. I think he called her the wrong name in his response.

You are drawing a far too broad of a conclusion from a narrow and insignificant event.

That's very laughable.

Being Anti-Trump only requires one simple quality, to think for oneself.

Can you show me an example of a lefty who thinks for himself? Every lefty I have encountered can only site lefty media for their perspective of the political landscape.

I liked almost all of your post. I really disliked the bold bit. I used to talk like that myself, but it's erroneous thinking and i'll explain why.

For one, not going to happen. That demographic is getting continually replenished.

For two, it's a bit cruel. Death is not a fate i would wish on political opponents, however willful their ignorance.

For three, actually, i think the demographic is not as aged as one might think. Below is a graph of the SCOTUS judges leanings changing over time. There is a persistent trend: liberal at early age, conservative at middle age, and back to liberal at old age:

Glad you liked it. Beauty is only skin deep, hotness needs much more. ;)

I'm reminded of the beautiful young winner from South Carolina of some beauty pageant last year. She was beautiful, but when she opened her mouth in an effort to answer a pretty easy question, it became painfully apparent that she was dumb as a box of rocks and nearly illiterate.

She was quite pretty, but not hot.

FYI, in the old days I bought Playboy just for the articles. ;)

Being Anti-Trump only requires one simple quality, to think for oneself.

You wouldn't believe that as a blanket statement if you objectively read what a lot of anti-Trump people write. I know a lot of very good, intelligent people who are anti-Trump for one or more reasons, but it is my experience that most anti-Trump people can't articulate why they oppose him except with a string of negative insults applied to him. For evidence I'll point to my thread asking for people to really explain what they think Trump will DO that will be so bad. Only a very few of the anti-Trumpers were able to come up with anything specific and even then they couldn't say why they were accusing Trump of that except in those negative insulting adjectives.

That's not thinking for oneself. That's mindless repetition of popular insults, slogans, and talking points.

I'll be happy to oblige.

Trump will change the makeup of the SCOTUS. And not for the better. The potential social changes will set this country back, potentially decades. Roe V Wade and Gay marriage come to mind immediately.

His narcissism is already rearing its ugly head as he takes on the intelligence community.

He and his little twitter habit are essentially a loose cannon as he has proven. That is extremely dangerous when it come to foreign policy and the potential for unfavorable circumstances that may come of it..

If he dismantles Obamacare it could threaten Medicare and Medicaid, which could impact millions of disabled Americans and seniors in a terrible way. And the impact on Medicare could set Part D of Medicare on its ass. Seniors are already getting the major shaft with respect to their medicines. They can ill afford getting screwed any further.

His apparent disregard for the environment is quite troubling as well. The clean air and water you enjoy could be in peril as he strips regulations that favor business over the environment.

Never mind his clear disdain for those not born here.

I am fearful of the changes that appear likely, especially with the Republicans owning the House and the Senate.

So yes, the big fat Tweeto scares the hell out of me, and for good reasons. Name calling notwithstanding.

You should have obliged on the proper thread. :) As for Scotus appointments, he provided a long list of potential nominees long before the election. Those were deemed a very good list by even honorable people on the left. He isn't appointing justice who will overturn this or order that as Hillary said she would do. He wants to appoint justices who won't favor one side or the other but follow the intent of the Constitution and existing law. There is no reason to believe he won't follow through with that.

As for the rest of it, I would need evidence that he has acted rashly as you suggest in any of his past history. As for Medicare and Social Security he has pledged to take care of people there. Is there anything in his history or dealings that suggest that dismantling Obamacare will not be done carefully and thoughtfully as he was elected to do? What in his history makes him dangerous for the environment? Would make you think he intends to pollute the land or dirty the air or water? I am not interest in what he COULD do, but in what people think he will DO that will be bad for them or others.

I gave you compelling issues. You give me "Until something bad happens I will trust the guy"

Good luck with that.

That isn't what I gave you at all. I pretty much trust nobody in politics. But I don't damn them until they give me some reason to do so either. So far the anti-Trump people predict all sorts of terrible things amidst their personal insults of him, but the large majority don't have anything in mind specifically that he will DO to fulfill their prophecies and those that do can't tell me what in his history makes them think he will do the terrible thing.

You keep repeating the same nonsense as if you weren't paying attention at all. During his recent campaign Trump has proven himself to be a narcissist, a loose cannon, and an extraordinarily spiteful individual.

Those are a dangerous combination, especially when you are the most powerful person in the world.

 I could have as well. With exceedingly rare exceptions in the"pundit" category, FOX has become about validation of Trump fans.

Almost all of the 'far left' people on this planet live in China and Cuba.

The Americans that righties describe as far left are mostly middle of the pack.
