Now I am not sure this is getting across how he thought it would, but it sounds pretty darn racist to me and NOT a good argument to support the Electoral College... There are much better ones without even talking about the "white establishment."

Yeah, definitely not a great argument to make in support of the Electoral College. That doesn't help his position at all.

I'm not surprised to hear him say something like that. What attracts his audience escapes me.

Bubba Clinton said white angry men voted for Trump. That sounds racist to me and divisional, no different than Hillary saying Trumps supporters are deplorables. Labeling by liberals is pathetic or maybe it's the norm and O'Reilly fits right in.

This doesn't surprise me at all.

Sadly.

Did you actually watch the clip of what O'Reilly said?

Here it is... Watch it and tell me if the op is truthfully portraying what he said:

lolz. Hi Grim! Nice to see your grainy youtube evidence of proof doesn't hold up once again.

In the context of the talking points Memo, O'Reilly said that the left wants power taken away from the white establishment. While he was talking about them getting rid of the electoral college. There isn't really any other way to look at this. What video did you watch?

Tell me how what you said above, matches that 3rd headline on post 1 that says "Bill O'Reilly's praises Electoral College for upholding 'white establishment'"?

O'Reilly was expressing his opinion on why the left wants to abolish the electoral college. He believes that it is motivated by race, and right or wrong, his opinion has validity.

upholding white establishment. I believe it is pretty clear. That means if we didn't have the electoral college, Whites wouldn't have power because of minorities in the big cities. It's a stupid argument that just reinforces what he is complaining about that the left complains about what he is complaining about. It's stupid and NOT a good argument for the electoral college. He could make the argument without referencing race or who is more racist than who.

Another day and another charge of racism from disgraced and discredited CNN. Having now watched and read all of the pertinent material, all I can say is of course the usual suspects are trying to twist O'Reilly's comments into a racist rant. Of course it was not actually a racist rant and I guess Juan William's is a racist too since he agreed with many of O'Reilly's points. I'm not a fan of O'Reilly, but this idiotic drek that is supposed to pass for thoughtful political commentary is just the modus operandi at CNN. Sadly has been for some time now.

A better question is what video did you watch? It does not appear that you actually watched the episode and the comments as they were actually made. This racist spin you are putting on the comments is unpersuasive at best. At this point the non stop racist carding has gotten pretty hum drum. We get it, CNN hates O'Reilly but the problem is that at the end of the day, these allegation are a load of hot gas. Much like CNN so called integrity. As I suspected and commented in another thread recently, it is obvious that much of the left and democrats will simply keep doubling down on this kind of stuff.

um no. He specifically mentioned that there is a white establishment reinforcing everything that BLM and the other groups have been saying for years. He stooped to their level and now he can't pretend to be above it anymore. This is a new era in O'Reilly racism.

So even though O'Reilly was expressing his opinion about the left, you find it ok to twist that into something he never said.

Keep it up and the following trend will continue.

Uhm no what? Simply doubling down and your tortured argument and cherry picking O'Reilly's actual comments while ignoring their context and the lengthy exchange about all of this between the three people on the episode does not a convincing much less informed argument make. Straight up honest question: You did not watch the actual O'Reilly episode, you are getting your cues from the dullards that comprised the so called "thinking" behind just another trite and tired charge of racism. Like I said, much of the left and their pundits know no other tricks than the non stop racist drum banging. This is an excellent case in point. Or as you say, the "new" era in O'Reilly racism. As versus the "old" era, I guess. :doh

A commentator on FOX talking about a 'white establishment' that we've been told for decades doesn't exist ...

And Grim17 wants to talk about grainy videos.. and his feelings on the headlines.

Lol. It's going to be 4 very long years for you, Grim17.

He's talking about the left's assertion, not his own.

You really need to pay more attention.

Whose assertion? Grim17, watching you distort what's on a video never gets old. Like that time you tried to tell us that way was some black person chanting about killing cops in cell blocks. Yeah, this is like that time again. He literally summarizes that the reason the left want to do away with the white establishment is by taking away power from white precincts.

This isn't him thinking about that's what the left wants, because again: It would be inconsistent with the belief that a white establishment doesn't exist in the first place.

It's him essentially telling white people that minorities and women (I laughed at the fact that he had to make it seem scary that these two groups were out there) are out to get them because they hold the power in this country.

But you want to talk about a headline you disagree with.

That's cool.

It appears that like ModerateGOP you are simply regurgitating the charges leveled by the pundits on CNN. I'll ask you the same question, you have not actually watched the episode that these comments have been cherry picked from have you? So you would not know the first thing about the context much less discussion about these comments with Juan Williams. Who I guess must also be racist since he agreed with O'Reilly about much of his comments. So you have not actually seen the discussion that got the pundits at CNN so hot and bothered. You've outsourced your thinking to the pundits at discredited and disgraced CNN. That much is obvious, it is also obvious you have a thing for Grim that makes you keep dropping asinine personal goads and insults. Problem is that seems to be all you bring to the thread.

It appears

I don't really care what it appears to you. I have no idea who you are. So I stopped reading there.

Anywho...

Bill O'Reilly, that white establishment that doesn't exist suddenly needs to be conscious the power of minorities who outnumber them by 3 million.

This is apparently, no time to give up on the Electoral College.

Like I said, you don't bring anything intelligent to the thread. Nada. Thanks for illustrating that I guess. :2razz:

Who are you and why do you keep addressing me like I should care about your opinion?

Anywho, that white establishment Bill O'Reilly keeps talking about. I wonder how long it'll be before we revert to it not existing? I think O'Reilly is going through something very similar to what happened to Navy Pride before he died. As he got older, he simply stopped giving a **** and just started saying weirdly crazy **** that he wouldn't have believed 50 years earlier.

Only in O'Reilly's case, we're just hearing it from a guy who actually talks to politicians and almost got shot during the Falkans (according to his account anyways). We're finally starting to hear what we knew was there after 9/11.

I mean back then, it was fine to violate a ton of laws if we were against Muslims. Now, he's just isolated white people and told them that they're threatened by the evil minority hordes (why are minorities who form a majority... called minorities?) in the cities.

Do we really need to say it?

Speaking of doubling down, since all of this is just too much for you to take in? My name appears right on my post. And I'm the guy debunking your idiotic post on a debate board in a thread where you can only be said to be "barely" participating. You sure are not using whatever grey matter you have between your ears. Because I asked you an honest and obvious question that, but it scared you I guess. Or was so taxing for you that you decided to no 'brain it' and run from it offering an asinine internet cliche instead. I'd ask why you are bothering to even participate, but I've noticed that there are a lot of DP posters who appear to have way too much time on their hands. And that they enjoy the act of posting mindless comments and arguments, when they are not trying desperately to bait and goad other posters they have a "thing" for.

Boy you showed me your brain real good now didn't you?:applaud

Speaking..

Excuse me sir, you still haven't explained why I should stop to read about your opinions on the subject. Clearly - what really needs to be discussed here is Bill O'Reilly's admission that minorities are out to get white people who are now under by... well... 3 million votes as he so eloquently put it.

Anywho, how interesting that Bill O'Reilly is discussing the 'white establishment' that we've all been told doesn't exist... but will be shut down by an attack on white precincts.

I wonder how he feels about Breitbart.
