Sometimes Bias Pays Off

Apparently that is exactly what they did according to the accounts I have read. If they kept a copy they lied when they said they did not. And the fact that they then destroyed the laptops is pretty good evidence that such information would not be available to anybody.
What did they actually say? You really think they didn't keep a copy of relevant evidence? Isn't it more logical that they didn't keep a copy of irrelevant data? Or do you seriously believe the FBI is deliberately destroying incriminating evidence and then admitting it?

Yup. You didn't read the article I linked did you. You might try doing that instead of making a silly argument off the top of your head.

I was so partial to Greta as the least biased, at least to the extent O'Reilly is, and a lot less frustrating in her presentations and interviews, I was prepared to hate Brit. I don't. I think he's going to do well in that shot.

Why were you prepared to hate Brit Hume? He's one of the smartest people on Fox and has been for many years. I watched him when he was with ABC for over 2 decades. Fox asked him to fill in even Greta's spot though he didn't want his own show. He's only in that slot until after the elections. He used to have the 6 pm slot, and decided to semi-retire, which is when Bret Baier got it. Brit Hume is smart, knows his stuff, isn't obnoxiously partisan, and is one of the few journalists left whose opinion I totally respect.

I was prepared to hate him because I loved Greta and was mourning that she had left, okay?

In a general shake up at Fox last year, Greta Van Sustern was moved from her 10 o'clock Eastern slot to a more favorable 7 o'clock slot. O'Reilly stayed in the most coveted slot at 8 p.m., and Megyn Kelly was given Hannity's slot at 9 p.m. Hannity was bumped to the least popular slot at 10 p.m. and his ratings suffered a bit as a result of it. In all these years nobody, and I mean nobody at Fox or any of the other cable news channels has been able to challenge the top ratings that Bill O'Reilly consistently pulled.

But during this campaign season it has been interesting to watch as those trends have been slowly changing.

Van Sustern remained my favorite until she left Fox a few weeks ago due to a contract dispute. I usually watch O'Reilly's opening memo as it is usually well done, but other than the Watters World segment that is quite entertaining , have been pretty hit and miss with his program as I get frustrated with him talking over everybody or everybody talking at once. And he is so non partisan that I think he sometimes deemphasizes stuff that should be emphasized.

Megyn Kelly is so obvious in her contempt, even hatred, for Trump that she long ago stopped being objective in any way and therefore I don't trust her journalism as much as some of the others.

And Hannity has been so obvious in being in the tank for Trump and is so thoroughly anti-Hillary that I figured he wasn't being taken seriously at all. But night after night he has hammered away at all the things the media should be focused on but isn't. And he does appear to be meticulous in his journalism.

So, I was encouraged when. . . .

I ran across this article showing that despite his bad time slot in the week just ended, Hannity's ratings have beaten EVERYBODY--all the people in all the slots on all the other cable news channels combined AND he beat Bret Hume who took Greta's place AND he beat O'Reilly that pretty much nobody has been able to do AND he beat Kelly.

Apparently a lot of people are hungry for the news that the MSM won't provide.

No, what it means is that a lot of people like the shill for the Fascist Trump.

Flies love the stuff.

Somebody is doing a good job if you can't figure out where they stand. Brit Hume is like that.
Doesn't mean he's weak or ineffective, he just let's you know what's going on regardless of who it affects.
But I think when FOX moved him into that slot it was supposed to be temporary until the election.
I hope he stays on.

I'll just address your first comment. When I e-mail somebody I am completely aware that I am e-mailing somebody using AOL or Yahoo or gmail (Google) or their own server such as Clinton.com or a government e-mail system or whatever.

I don't give Obama credit for being the brightest President we've ever had, but I'm pretty darn sure he's smart enough to be aware of the server he is e-mailing to.
Obama was fooled by the @definitelynotahomebrewserver.org. With a location like that, how was Obama supposed to know?

Greetings, bubba. :2wave:

:agree: Hume is doing what all of them on every channel should have been doing all along, and it's refreshing not to have to sift through personal bias just to hear what's in the news! To quote Joe Friday, "Just the facts, maam."

Do you know where the AOL server is and what security protocols it has in place?
Would the fact that it's a @AOL.com and not @State.gov be an indicator?

I do too. How you describe Brit is why I liked Greta. She had a way of cutting through the bull**** and getting to the heart of something in a way that nobody saw as offensive. And she never telegraphed how she personally felt except for an occasional "off the record" segment in which she expressed her opinion about something.

But Brit seems to have the same degree of objectivity and I'm enjoying his program. I hope they keep him on.

I like Mr. Hume...................and I didn't know he was on Fox.....................lmao.

I need to get out more I think! ;)

He hosted Special Report for 12 years until he stepped down in 2008 and Bret Baier took over.

Here's one of my favorite show ending he had on Special Report from back in 2000:

For the Clinton.com server:
This website runs Varnish v1.1 HTTP reverse proxy which is highly unstable and totally hack-able, that latest version of which is v5.0.
this website uses Crestron XPanel 2nd Series control system which gives him full control of the system from his MAC based laptop while on the go

I thought the Clinton.com server was more relevant as an example.

Looks like Tucker Carlson will be taking the Hume time slot.

Tucker is okay, but I wish Brit would stay now that I have pronounced him good at what he does in that time slot. :)
