Is the mainstream news media a disgrace? In the tank for Hillary?

It's garbage content. No real meat, just a bunch of one liners exaggerated or taken from context. Couldn't get through more than a minute before just wanting away from the lunatic propaganda.

So they are bascially doing the same thing that the MSM does?

The Mainstream media takes a bunch of one liners out of context and then runs whole "discussion panels" with various speakers in an effort to tell the public what their opinion should be on a particular matter.

We are so over it as a nation.

You are right... we only trust what the corporate "mainstream" media tells us....

Even when they tell us not to believe other sources not under their control.

Again, you are attacking the source and not addressing the content that was presented in the video.

I wasn't talking about Alex Jones I was talking about a certain person on this site lol.

I stated on post 1 that I am not a fan of Infowars. To take it further, I don't like Alex Jones, nor do I frequent the infowars website. I simply tripped upon the link to the video and found it to be relatively spot on and quite entertaining.

You didn't exactly address it either, Grim. In your OP...all you said was.."it was most comprehensive smack down of the mainstream news media that you'd seen in a long while." But you failed to mention WHY you felt that way or make any relevant points worth discussing.

Your thread is a BIG FAIL...Grim.

There's only one good reason to be watching Infowars...

For laughs.

I agree with his central point that the main stream news media is an utter disgrace.

No Grim, just no.

Infowars, a 24/7 whacko hangout for conspiracy theorist mental patients simply doesn't have the right to complain or point out flaws in a high school newspaper, let alone the national media.

Who gives two ****s about all that as it wasn't part of the video?

Yeah, you're right...a reporter openly admitting he's a hack is totally better in context.

Typical of you to post discredited, debunked, hyper partisan, tin foil hat, sources and expect to be taken seriously.

Since you didn't discredit anything in the video I guess I'll just wait for this claim to materialize.

This video is junk.

A claim made, now let's examine.

First,...

OK...we have our first point to be made. This is exciting.

...the media are not a monolithic entity. Media are made up of thousands of outlets and millions of individual journalists.

Journalists overwhelmingly donate to Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump: report - Washington Times

Of nearly $400,000 given to the Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump campaigns from journalists or people identified as working in the media, a staggering 96 percent has gone to benefit Mrs. Clinton, according to a Center for Public Integrity analysis published Monday.

OK...I stopped reading the rest of what you wrote.

LOL!!

Anyone who trots out those "traditional" complaints about non-msm sources haven't been watching msm sources lately. (at least, not without their biased blinders in place)

Nowadays, every one of those "traditional" complaints can be applied to msm. They, by devolving to that deplorable level that is usually reserved for the likes of InfoWars, have effectively raised the relevance of non-msm sources while simultaneously reducing their own relevance.

That's spot on, it's not that alternate news sites have necessarily become better, or more credible, but that the mainstream sources have come down to their level, making "those crazy sites" more relevant.

My first interaction with that guy was him exploding into an emotional breakdown and calling the Secret Service on me. This website has forever changed my views on liberalism. I am now inclined to believe the opposite of everything he and his ilk say.

Question Reality

Wow, really? Like, they contacted you or was it a claimed action?

I don't know about the claim of the "most comprehensive smack-down" but the why is what is presented in the video, of which you didn't address a single thing, so there is definitely big fail going on but it's on your utter lack of content in your responses. Here you've posted a few times and have yet to address any point in the OP so it really begs the question of why don't just move along.

There's only one good reason to be watching Infowars...

Which still represents a more pertinent point than what your post here represents. How does it feel to be of less worth than something you disdain so much?

And your post is completely off-topic. Congratulations.

Just agreeing with a shrill, paranoid, obtuse rant on youtube doesn't prove anything either. So what are we supposed to be debating here, exactly? Or maybe Grim just wanted bias confirmation, is that it?

Dude, do you recall your original reply to me? Here are a couple snippets:

You accused the mainstream media of fraud, collusion, and government control. Your links don't show that at all.
In fact, from your first link:

That's much, much different. I think that author made a fair, but debatable, point. You've yet to back up your assertions.

You've yet to back up yours, other than to claim you have experience that can't be proven.

Further, why no comment regarding anything presented by Michael Brown in the second link?

The first link confirms a know fact, there is a liberal bias. The second link describes how that bias manifests itself - but you don't touch it.

As I wrote, I could provide dozens of links that contain confirmation of fraud, collusion, and deceit. I could catalog Emails recently obtained revealing the collusion between one candidate and their political machine, and major MSM sources. I could post transcripts of statements made by Donald Trump against what was reported by the MSM to show the MSM willfully edited the context to invent a narrative that doesn't exist. That is fraud and deceit. However, to do all that would represent a quantum leap beyond the effort you have made to defend your claims, which is nothing.

Your credibility, like that of the MSM, is almost non-existent, and your excuses and explanations ring hollow.

Infowars is a conspiracy website that plants misinformation, false flags, distortions about national tragedies in the media.....and profits from the suffering and misery of victims and their families. It's not a credible source, Grim.

Donald Trump and the “Amazing” Alex Jones - The New Yorker

If Infowars plants misinformation, then what does that make NBC, ABC, Fox and CBS?

Very much the same thing, that's what.

I don't view InfoWars as "far right" by any stretch of the imagination.

They take shots at both political leans... it wasn't too long ago that they were ripping on George W. Bush pretty hard over the Iraq war, if you don't recall.

Doesn't matter - InfoWars is wacko, Looney Tunes, Froot Loops territory. Flatly ignoring them is not an inherently bad thing any more than ignoring the ravings of a madman carrying a sign on the street is a bad thing.

Well.... being someone who actually bothered to watch the video anyways....

I noticed something that the video editor did that was rather interesting....

They, for a short few seconds, displayed the actual email text from all the various wiki leaks information obtained to back up what he was saying.

Now, it would require furthur research, but there is nothing about THAT ACTION that suggests "froot loops" territory to me.

Could they have done a better job at showing the EVIDENCE side of their argument in the video. Hell yeah they could. But of course they were mostly going for shock value.
