Millennials Are In The Dark

Millennials are totally in the dark about American history, "exactly" where the media wants them to stay!

HOW COME every major news network isn't broadcasting the following speech by Bill Clinton? ?
https://www.c-span.org/video/?c4351026/clinton-1995-immigration-sotu

Uh, how about because Bill isn't running for president.

Or because the immigration situation today isn't the same as it was in 1995, nor is our understanding of it the same as it was in 1995.

Or because Hillary's positions have always been notably different from Bill's on certain issues anyway, because she's A DIFFERENT PERSON.

Any of those work for you, or are you going to persist in believing that anyone who doesn't agree with your ignorant conflation is just a moron?

Millennials are the perfect example of the pussification of America.

As a millennial. I find this thread to be racist BS. We aren't as much in the dark as our elders portray us. Two posts in and there is already the name-calling and insults. Plus lack of substance. This thread is linking two things that have nothing in common and it doesn't even try to prove that millennials don't know about this speech...

I don't blame the millennials, I blame their parents for putting up with such a lousy educational system.

Read a high school history book.

This is the generation of leaders that is going to get rolled up in a rug by our enemies.

Butt hurt?

Prove me wrong if you can.

Uh..."racist" BS? Is this a joke that I am not getting?

You do understand that the term "millennial" does not denote a race, right?

I think the term you are looking for is Ageist, as in Ageism.

Ageism is stereotyping and discriminating against individuals or groups on the basis of their age.

What are they teaching in schools these days? :coffeepap:

He already was president, now he's peddling his wife. Face up, political favors can quickly fatten the Clinton Foundation. Wonder if he mentioned that to Loretta Lynch on the tarmac?

Illegal immigration today is exponentially worse than it's ever been! I'm retired so it's no skin off my nose, but YOU will be busting your butt just to make ends meet (wise up chump)

Yeah, crooked Hillary is different all right. Can you name ONE positive accomplishment she made in the past 30 years? Don't feel too bad, no one can.

Would I be?

In many ways, yes. Millennials often seem to older folks like they aren't motivated to work, but it's not their fault that our economy has been stagnant for most, if not all of their adult life. That's thanks in large part to the massive safety nets that the baby boomers set up, but they don't care as long as they get their pension check. And their social security check. And Medicare better not get touched, either! Or their government-ensured mortgages on their overvalued property(ies), come to think of it. So what if their Generation X kids are overworked paying for their safety nets, and their Millennial grandkids are unemployed and miserable with the state of the economy they were born into? So what if they're the cause of our 17 trillion dollar debt, and their voting block is the main reason we can't get an actual solution to our fiscal crisis passed through congress? That's not their problem. Not now, although they might have given a damn back when they all smoked weed and hated the government. Those days are long since passed, regardless - now it's time for the gravy train, and the economic consequences be damned!

I'm sure you think it's ridiculous of me to typecast an entire generation as a single, inexcusable drain on the American economy, but you did almost the exact same thing, so all's fair now.

If I name some accomplishments, would it change your mind about her in any way?

It would mean that you are (1) a paid shill, (2) mentally ill, (3) in denial, (4) yanking my chain, (5) or you have no clue what "accomplishment" means.

For example, the Benghazi dead Americans are not an accomplishment, IMHO. Benghazi dead terrorist Muslims would be.

Did I miss something?

By refusing to answer my question, you've proven my point. Thanks.

Prove you wrong about what? A baseless statement you made with no point?

Yeah, I am tired of getting thrown into the millennials who don't pay attention group. Based on a stupid video that doesn't even prove that point.

Ageism is too soft. No one cares about ageism. What school teaches about ageism??
Sometimes it feels like racism, they are putting me into a group where I don't belong.

Why would they broadcast a 20 year old speech from a man who isn't eligible for office?

He sure is. There are dozens of positions in the WH the blue-dress hick can choose from - and I don't mean while banging an intern.

And which of these is he running for

This thread made me laugh. I'll have to remember this one next time someone calls me a "p++sy."

"RACIST!!"

I travel a lot overseas and hang out with other travelers that tend to be backpackers in the Millennial Gen, and they're worse than you think. Holy crap. Usually I end up just leaving the group because if you say anything at all that they can find some way to figure out how it may possibly be a pejorative, the entire group is outraged. I'm a Gen-X Marine, and I usually twist the knife deeper when I think it's hurt their little feewings. I guess that makes me a jerk, but I'm ok with it. Because I'm one of the GOOD jerks, and the world needs good jerks.

These are some of the things that make them outraged. One night I met some seemingly nice North Carolina girls in a bar in Ecuador. We're hitting it off nicely for a while, then one girl tells a story about her hotel screwing her over, so I say, "Yeah, that's pretty retarded."

These girls reacted like I just smeared a huge dookie in their mother's face. I didn't say ANYONE was retarded by the way, I just said the situation was retarded. Now I apparently hate little retarded kids. And these girls HATE me. So I leave and go drink with cool people instead of some dumb 23 y/o airheads. Oh, and I'm pretty sure airheads would be sexist or racist, too.

And if I'm in a situation where something is just dumb and boring, I'll say, "This is gay. I'm going to get a beer." Same reaction with this new generation.

Every generation likes to crap on the next one. But this Millennial bunch takes the cake. Whiners.
