The nightly report from ABC tonight (6.41 EDST) by reporter Mary Bruce oozed bias in favor of Hillary by claiming "Trump has abandoned one false claim (where Obama was born) with another. When this clip becomes available I will try to get it an post it here. A classic case of an opinion by a left winger hack being presented as fact. She also claimed it was a lie to insinuate that clinton/clinton supporters were involved in the birther rumors (in 08)

Waiting to see it.
Fact-checking Donald Trump's claim Hillary Clinton started Obama birther movement

as if faux news isn't biased against hillary and every other democrat for years, wasting your time trying to stir up outrage

The thing is ABC is reporting facts - straight down the middle.

Facts have a liberal bias.........

Facts are facts. They have neither a liberal nor a conservative bias.
The bias is introduced when someone observes the facts and interpret them.

Just because some leading liberals assert that 'facts have a liberal bias' in no way makes them correct in the assertion.
More accurately, they are introducing their liberal bias to the facts as they interpret them.

It is a lie to assert Hillary Clinton, or her campaign in 2008, started the birther movement:

Did Hillary Clinton start the Obama birther movement? | PolitiFact
It’s an interesting bit of history that the birther movement appears to have begun with Democrats supporting Clinton and opposing Obama. But Trump, and others who have made this claim, neglect to mention that there is no direct tie to Clinton or her 2008 campaign.

The story appears to have started with supporters of Clinton, an important distinction.

Trump goes on to completely distort the chain of events by claiming Clinton "was all in" on the birther movement. Most of the talk started after Clinton suspended her presidential campaign. And the only thing she officially has ever done is deny any accusation of starting a whisper campaign.

We rate this claim False.
Was Hillary Clinton the Original ‘Birther’?

It is certainly interesting, and perhaps historically and politically relevant, that “birther” advocacy may have originated with supporters of Hillary Clinton — especially since many view it as an exclusively right-wing movement. But whether those theories were advocated by Clinton and/or her campaign or simply by Clinton “supporters” is an important distinction. Candidates are expected to be held accountable for the actions of their campaigns. Neither Cruz nor Trump, whose campaign did not respond to our request for backup material, provides any compelling evidence that either Clinton or her campaign had anything to do with starting the so-called birther movement.

That Hillary Clinton supporters circulated such an e-mail isn't in question, but the claim that that's the moment the birther theory "first emerged" simply isn't true. The likeliest point of origin we've been able to find was a post on conservative message board FreeRepublic.com dated 1 March 2008 (which, according to a report in The Telegraph, was at least a month before Clinton supporters got on the e-mail bandwagon)

It is a lie to say there is any connection between Hillary Clinton or her campaign of 2008 to birtherism. She cannot be held accountable for her butt-hurt supporters and she has never made the accusation herself. Nor has her campaign.

that's an opinion Gina. I heard plenty of birther nonsense from both Republicans and Clintonistas in the 08 campaign. Your cite shows no one really knows when the birther movement started

TD, it's fact Hillary Clinton did not start birtherism nor did she ever trade in it. There are many more citations from respectable publications who report the same. Unless you have a link that proves she did, not her fanatical PUMAs, it remains a fact. It didn't happen.

The issue is the bias of ABC news. ABC has been rather reserved in its commenting about Hillary's falsehoods such as her lies about "sniper fire" and classified information. Maybe I missed it, but I have never heard ABC refer to her comments on this issues as lies.

Given the depth of your understanding of gun issues I'll give you a pass here.

we should take a poll: which one of us understands gun issues better

who do you think will win

but that's not the issue

the issue is a ABC reporter claiming Trump lied twice-when I don't recall them ever claiming hillary lied.

both candidates have lied. Constantly, but I don't see hillary being called a liar by the MSM

No one is claiming trump lied. They are reporting he lied.

When confronted with left wing media bias, we normally get what you see here.

One person making idiotic statements that have nothing to do with anything anybody's talking about...hoping to derail the thread.

Another person derailing the thread by disputing an issue that is briefly mentioned...but is not the main issue of the thread.

The result is nobody is talking about the actual topic...ABC News' left-wing bias.

Now me...I don't watch that stuff, so while I cannot speak to your specific newscast until and if you get a video of it, I've seen plenty of other instances of ABC and the other alphabet organizations blatantly spinning, lying and using hyperbole. So it wouldn't surprise me one bit if they are doing it this time.

It's biased to say that a lie is a lie? There is no proof that Clinton/her campaign started or participated in birtherism. That was the topic of report for which you started this thread.

Facts have a liberal bias.........

Facts have always had a liberal bias because said facts are drawn from a liberal amount of sources to pin down exactly what the facts really are. That's why they're called "facts".

The networks are not biased against Trump. That of course is just stupid. What's happening is that journalism is doing it's job by reporting exactly what that idiot Trump says and why. So the bias against Trump is actually what we refer to as "common sense".

Ah, the smell of conservative victimhood in the morning!
