However, Oliver makes a very good point. If Trump drops out and becomes the real, "kid who ran for President," he would become immortal and his brand more powerful than ever. Being President Trump will only make people like him LESS!

This is the same John Oliver who insisted that England would never support the British Exit. He should go back to topics like how corrupt the Olympics are and How easy it is to form your own religion.

Uh but what did he say wrong in this segment? Sure he was wrong about brexit, but he is not wrong about people NOT liking Presidents. And he is not wrong about Trump running on winning and being successful.
 
Oliver sounds like he is working for #NeverTrump losers.

The primary voters had many candidates to choose from and Trump destroyed everyone of them.
He received the most votes ever for a republican candidate. Frankly I don't think most people give a whit what Oliver
thinks about Trump! Trump is the nominee so people will just have to get over it!
 
In checking the John Oliver demographic it is noted that Bernie Sanders isn't liberal enough for him.

That's all you really need to know.
 
basic google search of john oliver reveals he's a far left liberal, so it's not surprising he wants trump to drop out. he knows the polls are fabricated, and he knows trump is the next president if he stays in the race.

Damn, why didn't he say so earlier. I didn't realize how important comedians are in the political realm lately and freaking John Oliver even. I will call Trump right now and tell him to drop out. I am sure he will suspend his campaign right away.

I would be willing to bet Trump watches the show...he can't help himself...he would never pass up an opportunity to hear/see someone talking about him. He watches Bill Mahar too...LOL

Comedians can be influential. It was because of Jon Stewarts shaming of the GOP congress that the funding for sick 9/11 rescue workers finally got pushed through. Oliver is reaching beyond his grasp on his attacks on Trump. He so badly wants to be as good and influential as Stewart. If he were really on Stewart's level he wouldn't have given up on his pseudo religion so quickly. He should have seen just how far he could push it.

2 reasons why this is not going to happen:

1. Donald Trump has an oversized ego that blocks common sense
2. Donald Trump is too arrogant to see the writing on the wall (the yuuuuugggggeeeee!!!!!!! defeat in the electoral college) that he is going to suffer

And for those 2 reasons at least, the Donald, the orange one, will not drop out.

I don't know why conservatives always seem to get so worked up about what comedians say. John Stewart, Stephen Colbert, John Oliver, etc.......none of these people presented their shows as "fair and balanced" journalism. They're comedians. And yet people on the right are constantly whining about their "bias".

They are comedians, but comedy is a very effective tool at conveying information. People like Rush and Beck and Savage are mere entertainers, as well. Listeners just need to discern. Neither seriousness or comedy or parody is a signal of accuracy or truth or lies.

No, in order for it to be real comedy the information has to be had by the viewer and then the humor validates that.
