Dr. Drew Pinsky dropped a bombshell on a California radio show this week, saying he's "gravely concerned" about Hillary Clinton's health.

snip

He said Clinton had two episodes of deep venus thrombosis, or blood clots in her legs, and suffers from hypothyroidism. He said the drug she was given for hypothyroidism was "very unconventional" and used in the 60s.
Pinsky then said Clinton was put on an anticoagulant that "really isn't used anymore," adding that a person of Clinton's stature would be expected to receive a newer drug.
After Clinton fell and hit her head in 2012, she suffered a "transverse sinus thrombosis," which he called an "exceedingly rare clot" that he has only come across once in his career.
He said in his estimation, the earlier treatments she received may have led to problems with her "coagulation system."
“So the very medicine doctors are using may be causing this problem and they’re using an old fashioned medicine to treat it – what is going on with her health care? Maybe they have reasons, but at a distance, it looks bizarre."

The Doctor, (And he is an actual Doctor) went as far on Hannity, to take listeners back to when she was wearing the "prisim glasses" and suggested brain damage....Now, I know all the jokes that could arise from this issue, but seriously, do we really want to consider a person that has problems with clots, that could have her drop dead instantly, and more to the point, possibly brain damaged due to her fall, and put her in charge of this country?

I think not.

As opposed to a unhinged grossly obese elderly white man with a family history of Alzheimer's? A man whose emotional outbursts suggest that he is already suffer from the onset of the disease? I say we go to the running mates. Kaine wins hands down.

But if we actually want a heathy fit president there is only one choice and it's not even close - Johnson.

"Gravely concerned" as in "my fervent hope".

Dr. Drew examined Clinton when? Do we really want to give any credence to a person who is offering a medical opinion one some one he has never even ****ing examined? Some one who actually has examined Clinton says her health is fine. Now, with Trump, his letter from the doctor is plagued with problems...https://drjengunter.wordpress.com/2016/08/16/im-a-doctor-these-are-the-things-i-find-concerning-with-trumps-medical-letter/

Edit: since some will miss this, the part about Trump was added to show how easy it is to raise questions about some one's health without actually knowing anything about their health...

Did he physically and personally checked her? Is he her doctor? No, he can have opinions about what medication she uses but he can only give opinions, she has a doctor who prescribes what she thinks is the right medication for her.

1. as we all know, the glasses were only something Clinton used for 2 months. And loads of people have concussions
2. he is still only looking at the statement of her doctor, he never had personal consults with Clinton
3. she is only using warfarin as a precaution.
4. Pinsky said that there was a great concern for him in Clinton's medical records, BUT also said that "It’s not so much that her health is a grave concern," but that "It’s that the care she’s getting could make it a concern."

Which is his opinion, nothing more and nothing less and another failed and pathetic Trumpist attempt at making this about Hillary's health rather than his own tragedy of a campaign.

So to call it a bombshell is ludicrous and false.

No we don't. Sadly, it looks like we may be guaranteed it.

A doctor who goes on air to publicly announce his/her patient's health records is in violation of HIPAA and likely a whole bunch of other legal/ethical rules. Doctors who know what they're doing also don't pontificate based on a letter written by another doctor, when that other doctor has access to all the actual medical records and has actually examined the patient.

If I took the OP, I'd have to take it with 2.5 metric tons of salt. And that would be disgusting, so I won't take it at all.

The sad truth is that in this campaign both sides have lied to us so many times we don't know what to believe.

While anyone in such a high stress job as the president could fall ill, we should know if someone has something in their medical past that makes it more likely. This issue is materially more important than someone's tax returns. Who cares what % of income a candidate pays in taxes. If he/she is like most Americans, it would be the lowest amount allowed by law.

There is no requirement for the candidates to release anything. If you are concerned about it, pay attention to who is the VP candidate...

None of that changes just how ****ing stupid it is for a doctor to publicly comment on some one's health without ever having examined them.

LOL Dr. Drew? I remember listening to him as the on air doctor on call for Love Line, which was KROQ's call in radio show back in the 90's (in L.A.) when people would call in with their love problems. I just dont know how credible he is.

I totally forgot about that! What a clown.............

So some TV personality Doctor said we should be concerned, huh? Hahah. Can Dr. Phil give a second opinion? I mean, I am concerned about a Clinton presidency, but not because of her health. Rather I am concerned about the health of the Republic. The same concern that I have over a Trump presidency.

And why aren't we concerned with Trump? He won't release his medical records either and he's got a couple years on Hillary. Do we want any of these oldest fogies ever to run for office to be in office? Either one could drop dead with the same probabilities.

Don't vote Death, vote Johnson.

Isn't this what the position of VP is for? so that in case the president becomes unable to fulfill the duties of the presidency there's an immediate replacement, and isn't this why a presidential candidate chooses his/her VP during the campaign season and involves him/her in the electoral process? so that the potential replacement retains a democratic foundation? Assuming that Clinton falls ill after winning the presidency, Tom Kaine as her VP will pick up the mantle and business won't be interrupted.

He hosts "Teen Mom" reunion shows. Very credible indeed.

A guilty pleasure of mine is Teen Mom, don't judge. On that note, he couldn't even have the balls to call out any of the moms on their utter stupidity and there were some obvious ones last season.

Oh dont feel bad about that, when I didnt have much cash back in my college days, my friends and I would drink cheap beer while listening to Loveline on the radio and having some laughs. LOL

For those ignorantly yukin it up over some of Dr. Drew's previous media endeavors, you should know....

Dr. Drew, is an American board-certified internist, addiction medicine specialist...

Pinsky is also Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California, former Medical Director for the Department of Chemical Dependency Services at Las Encinas Hospital in Pasadena, California,[3] staff member at Huntington Memorial Hospital, and a private practitioner.[4]

The willful dismissal of a serious subject, exclusively because you want to protect such a flawed status quo candidate like the criminal Hillary only serves to show that you have not a candle to hold up to this man's education, let alone accomplishments....Then again, y'all are on an internet message board, so there ya go....

Libertarian's will NEVER be accepted as a mainstream anything as long as they continue to be out of touch on issues like drugs, with the american public.

Now, I'm not a doctor, but I haven't noticed anything in Hillary's speech patterns, facial expressions or movement in any way to say she might have brain damage.

And if he was a good doctor, wouldn't he know not to offer his opinion of someone who he hasn't examined. Or is it Okay as long as it fits your politics?

So what? He'll always be known as the straight-guy to Adam Carrolla on that stupid MTV call in show. Just like Judge Judy is the goof judge on a cheesy Wapner-esque show even though she technically is a former judge.

It's not what you say is what defines you. It's what you DO.

Not at all....He is a Doctor that stated that he had access to Hillary's medical records, and he and another Doctor reviewed them, and came to some conclusions that troubled him, and he talked about them.... It's still America for the moment rocket, and he is able to voice his opinion whenever he likes...Now, you don't have to believe it, but, trying to say that he shouldn't speak about something is, well, not very American...

So, because the guy did a quirky show years ago, totally wipes out all of his education, and other positions he has held? BTW, He also currently serves as a Medical adviser on CNN....You know, Hillary's network?

So, why don't you stop trying to discredit the man, and come up with an argument other than a logical fallacy?

The End of Dr. Drew's media career.

Radio host: So you've been reviewing photos of Hillary Clinton tripping, stumbling, holding onto everything in sight, requiring a chair now on stage when she is not speaking at the podium and you've heard people expressing concerns. Tell us Dr. Drew, what do you make of all this? Should we be concerned about Hillary's health? Do you think something is going on?

Dr. Drew: How would I know? I have never even met the woman. I certainly have never examined her and I don't have access to her medical records. There is no way I could possibly even attempt to diagnose someone who isn't my patient, someone I've never even met. If she was my patient I couldn't tell anyone that she was my patient. On top of that I could never divulge a patient's medical information without their express permission.
