The Bizarre Media Blackout Of Hacked George Soros Documents

Scandal: Leaked documents released a few days ago provide juicy insider details of how a fabulously rich businessman has been using his money to influence elections in Europe, underwrite an extremist group, target U.S. citizens who disagreed with him, dictate foreign policy, and try to sway a Supreme Court ruling, among other things. Pretty compelling stuff, right?

Not if it involves leftist billionaire George Soros. In this case, the mainstream press couldn't care less.

On Saturday, a group called DC Leaks posted more than 2,500 documents going back to 2008 that it pilfered from Soros' Open Society Foundations' servers. Since then, the mainstream media have shown zero interest in this gold mine of information.

We couldn't find a single story on the New York Times, CNN, Washington Post, CBS News or other major news sites that even noted the existence of these leaked documents, let alone reported on what's in them.

Much has been written in the MSM about the political activities of the Koch Brothers. In depth studies, threats to bring law suits for backing "Climate Denial" activities.

But how much effort has gone into another player who operates on a scale far beyond the Koch Brothers?

Why have the revelations in the Soro's documents received so little attention? What does this say about the Main Stream Media in this day and age? Is this acceptable?

Why would that be considered bizarre? There are no journalists left.

Sometimes a non-issue is just that; A non-issue.

Sometimes a non-issue is just that; A non-issue.

Non issue?

Apparently non-issues from the article:

the leaked documents show how Soros' far-flung international organizations attempted to manipulate Europe's 2014 elections. The "List of European Elections 2014 Projects" details over 90 Soros efforts he had under way that year.

The documents reveal that Soros has poured nearly $4 million into anti-Israel groups, with a goal of "challenging Israel's racist and anti-democratic policies."

Here at home, they show that Soros proposed paying the Center for American Politics $200,000 to conduct a smear campaign against conservative activists.

More recently, an October 2015 document came to light showing that Soros' Open Society U.S. Programs had donated $650,000 to "invest in technical assistance and support for the groups at the core of the burgeoning #BlackLivesMatter movement." Since then, several BLM protests have turned violent.

Or how about one of the organization pushing for mass migration around the world?

Total non issue. Right wing conspiracy nutters disagree though. Soros is known for his support of serious investigative journalism and media watchdogs like media matters.

Really appreciate his efforts wrt Israel. Though he's Jewish himself his wont countenance their bad deeds....

The bolded sentence shows everything we need to know about your OP, about the complete lack of objectivity you have shown in approaching this subject.

Further details in the leaked documents reveal the collusion with Soro's and his web of orgainizations with the MSM, education, and the White House.

In one memo written to members of the organization's board - which include journalists and members Soros' wealthy family - in February, officials for the foundation's U.S. operations set a goal of influencing a positive outcome in the U.S. vs. Texas Supreme Court Case.

'Grantees are seeking to influence the Justices (primarily via a sophisticated amicus briefs and media strategy) in hopes of securing a favorable ruling in U.S. v Texas,' the memo notes.

The case dealt with an Obama executive order that would have give the illegal immigrant parents of U.S. citizens the right to stay in the country - an order that would have applied to millions of illegal immigrants.

By the time the court got around to making a decision on the case, Antonin Scalia had died, effectively tying the justices on the issue.

The memo is perhaps shocking considering that the OSF officials were directly asking members of the media to write favorably in an attempt to sway the justices to defend the Obama order.

Some of those board members who are members of the media include Harvard University scholar and Washington Post columnist Danielle Allen, Foreign Policy contributor and Georgetown Law professor Rosa Brooks, and Steve Coll, who is the dean of Columbia University graduate School of Journalism.

Soros is also on the board, as are his sons Alex and Jonathan.

Do you care to comment about the revelations, and the questions I asked in the OP, or do you think your strawman is sufficient to avoid doing so?

It would be a waste of time and effort.

Tell you what - make a quick study showing exactly how it is that Soros operates "on a scale far beyond" that of the Koch brothers. Show me that you're able to be truly objective...and then I'll comment on your 'revelations'.

Because rational and intelligent people see partisan hackery for what it is, no matter which side does it. You clearly can not.

One of the leaked documents was a detailed 69-page Open Society report on the agenda of an Open Society U.S. Programs board meeting held in New York from October 1 to October 2, 2015.

In the course of our work, we were able to generate engagement by a group of mayors through Emma Lazarus II Fund grantee Cities United for Immigration Action; the civil rights and immigrant rights community, through long-time grantee the Leadership Council for Civil and Human Rights; liberal and conservative former national security and state department officials with the help of grantee Human Rights First; and some conservative voices, such as evangelical Christians and Southern Baptists through grantee National Immigration Forum. In the face of this pressure, the Obama administration announced Sept. 20 that by 2017, it would raise to 100,000 the total number of refugees the U.S. takes worldwide each year. While we applaud this development, it falls short of the proposed special allocation. We and allied advocates believe the U.S. can and should do more.

LOL

Is that what you are going to call it?

The details of his global efforts are laid out in the link I provided. Why are you indicating you are afraid to comment on them.

The real waste of time is to reply to your strawman, while you're trying to avoid the questions in the OP altogether.

Comment, or be ignored.

Another poster running from facts? The facts are laid out in the documents from Soro's. Are you suggesting the documents from Soro's are partisan hackery, or are you saying my comments are partisan hackery?

I've only asked questions about why these revelations are not being discussed in the media. How is that partisan?

The insults don't help your case

And you just committed two fallacies.

Two wrongs make a right is a fallacy.
Shifting burden of proof for your claims to your opponent is a fallacy.

You're the one that claims Koch is just as bad, so before you want people to prove it wrong, you have to show evidence that it is right. Just because the Koch brothers do something doesn't somehow lift any wrong doing from Soros.

The media is as corrupt as Hillary and slick Willie ! Why do you think that closed group hates outsiders so much and twist everything they say and do .

If there was any doubt before, the revelations about and activities of the MSM this election cycle removes all doubt.

Documents reveal some of the range of activities one of the richest individuals on the planet is doing, and they are almost totally ignored. Why? Well, would the fact a board member of his inner cabal is from the Washington Post?

More will be revealed, as voters deserve to know what is going on, and who is doing it.

Exactly.

You mean like super PACS and such or that is something only reserved for republicans like Adelson?

The documents reveal that Soros has poured nearly $4 million into anti-Israel groups, with a goal of "challenging Israel's racist and anti-democratic policies."
Again so what can he not spend his money any way he wants? Was that spending illegal? How about ALEC?

Here at home, they show that Soros proposed paying the Center for American Politics $200,000 to conduct a smear campaign against conservative activists.
Like the swift boat campaign?

Or how about one of the organization pushing for mass migration around the world?
Is that illegal?

Another poster running from facts?
What facts. The only fact here is the partisan hackery.

The facts are laid out in the documents from Soro's. Are you suggesting the documents from Soro's are partisan hackery
No, what you are doing is.

I've only asked questions about why these revelations are not being discussed in the media. How is that partisan?
Because you are attempting to elicit some negative reaction about how bad Soros is, when clearly he is not any worse than any other wealthy person who is attempting to manipulate any and everything to further their interests. Moreover it was "Citizens United" that enabled them so it is quite hypocritical.

The insults don't help your case
Yea, I can see how and why reality is insulting for you.

Exactly.

I understand you think the revelations contained in the documents released are meaningless. Your effort to excuse and equivocate make that clear.

Should the media apply the same subjective reasoning to issues like this?

George Soro's is a controversial kingpin in American and International Politics. Given his prominence and influence, one would expect the media to pay some attention to details like those revealed in the documents released.

As of yet, there is little to none.

Is a subjective media preferred?

Thank you for your opinion. It was quite revealing and confirming.

Have a nice day.

In light of what appears to be total ambivalence by the MSM to revelations about George Soros contained in the documents released, a quick search shows how the media has responded to revelations related to the Koch Brothers:

They are. People should focus on real issues not what some rich guy who wants to buy influence does. The time for that passed when "Citizens United" gave the rich unrestricted means to exercise their influence ON EITHER SIDE.

Your effort to excuse
I made no excuse for I find it just as vile as when it is done by anyone else, but found your approach to be nothing more than partisan hackery.

Should the media apply the same subjective reasoning to issues like this?
The media will be the media and will do what helps their bottom line. That some find or try to sensationalize some event is also telling.
George Soro's is a controversial kingpin in American and International Politics.
NO more so that any number of others on either side of the political spectrum
