DNC Trumps RNC on Star Power

I just looked, and it's apparently been pulled, damn it! Unbelievable! I should have printed it out to save it, but who knew someone would find it objectionable! :2mad:

The Republilcans on the list probably all got together and convinced Yahoo to pull it in an attempt to save their jobs! :lamo

I'd add Pat Sajak to that list. I follow him on Twitter and he's kinda funny!

Lots of Hollywood celebs say they'll move to Canada or Europe if Trump elected, even though Mexico is closer. #confused

I don't get why celebrity endorsement are so popular, but for every person who denies them there has to be countless others who are impressed by them. For good or for bad, they seem to work... just like negative campaigning.

A celebrity endorsement should mean nothing at all... either positive or negative. A opinion is not better simply because a celebrity endorses it, nor is it necessarily worse. It's just another opinion like your's and mine.

Bottom line: Don't bring me Mary Smith because Mary Smith is a star on "Bowling for Furniture", bring me Mary Smith because Mary Smith's opinion has proven to be wise... and her stardom is merely a coincidence.

What happened to the star power and pazazz that Donald Trump promised us would be at the RNC?? Scott Baio seems to have been the best he could come up with??? Seriously??? From all that promise of change Trump has made. Wouldn't one think that the RNC would be the perfect opportunity for Trump to showcase what his brand of reality television could bring to the boring snooze fest that conventions and dare I say government is?? If Scott Baio is the best change Trump can come up with, I want no part in it.

Did Trump's worldview get shaken when he realized none of his good hollywood friends or athletes would come speak for him??

What a hypocritical loser!

It is just not the fact that the DNC has real a-list celebrities and stars at their convention, they also have real political star power there, Bernie vs. Ted Cruz, FLOTUS vs. all on the republican RNC stage, Bill C. vs. Melania, loads of former president power (Carter on video, Bill in the room, FLOTUS and POTUS) loads of senators, congressmen and women, Eric Holder, Elizabeth Warren, 9/11 survivors and heroes, Amy Klobuchar, Madeleine Albright, big city mayors, governors, Gabby Giffords, Bloomberg, Biden, Rear admiral John Hutson, Leon Panetta, Jesse Jackson, General John Allen (ret. USMC) the former Commander, International Security Assistance Forces, and Commander, United States Forces - Afghanistan.

Sorry, but Scott Baio and that third rate reality star pale in the comparison to Sarah Silverman, Paul Simon, Boys 2 men, Alacia Keys, America Ferrara/Lena Dunham, Debra Messing, Meryl Streep, Starr Jones, Sigourney Weaver, Lenny Kravitz and those are just the real famous stars, most of the rest of the lower lever stars would outshine Scott Baio and even the lower tier stars would trump that third rate reality star of the RNC.

There are probably more celebrities who are right wingers than we know. I can't imagine it's easy to do in that town.

As a veteran of numerous sets, I can tell you, if you're not toeing the "progressive" line, you need to keep your mouth shut.

Which everyone should do in the workplace anyway.

Ironically, you will not find a more blatantly sexist cesspool than a movie/TV set. Like, knuckle-dragging, troglodyte, Mad-Men-is-a-NOW-meeting sexist.

Was Hillary showing a bump during the RNC? No. And yet for all their star power thus far, Trump is showing a bump during the DNC. Apparently all that start power is just showing folks what their candidate isn't.

Uhhh, did we miss the Oscars? I thought this was a political convention.

You shouldn't speak until you know what you're talking about. That's why I get uncomfortable with interviews. Reporters ask me what I feel China should do about Tibet. Who cares what I think China should do? I'm a ****ing actor! They hand me a script. I act. I'm here for entertainment. Basically, when you whittle everything away, I'm a grown man who puts on makeup.
Brad Pitt.

Well, the DNC is the party of make believe...

Yes, that's the most important thing in the world....listening to a celebrity. Why be troubled about legitimate things when you can worry about not having movie stars there. Hey wow, Sarah Silverman called for people to support Hillary, Because Sarah Silverman is so important. I mean, she knows what's best for our country. And Lena Dunham, who pried open the vagina of her 7 year old sister. Now there's a celebrity. Then there's Erika Alexander, of The Cosby Show fame. You remember The Cosby Show. It went off the air about 25 years ago, and starred that great family man, Bill Cosby.

I agree, it's troublesome that Trump couldn't get DJ Jazzy and Lenny Kravitz to come out in support of him. That right there is the reason why he'd be a terrible President. America Ferrara won't be at his inauguration.

He did get Chachi though.

I can't imagine a more shallow metric by which to assess a potential president.

Yes, it's silly to measure a candidate by how well they fulfill their promises

By how many stars they know? You have to be kidding. Why don't we measure who tells the most lies?

In your mind since this is so unimportant. Does it count that he lied about it?

Nope. I really don't give a rat's ass about how many stars attend anybody's political convention. Never have, and never will. Trump's told some whoppers. True. He's never endangered national security and lied about it repeatedly to protect his ass and salvage his political career. That means a bit more to me. And no, I don't like Trump. I just like Hillary even less.

If they're promising stars, and don't deliver, it demonstrates incompetence

Trump loses that one too

Sorry Sangha. Either you haven't been paying attention for the last 30 years, or your vision should be checked.

I know YOU don't care but why shouldn't it matter? That shows some poor judgement on his part too. It's usually the simple things that bug me about a candidate.
Obama promised to save the world, remember that one??
Hillary thinks everything is OK.
Trump is gong to change things up. He said that about the convention before he said that about the country. It's foreshadowing what is to come. And you'll care then!

I don't think Donald as very many friends. Sociopaths don't think they need friends.
