This analysis has to do with the Michelle Fields Incident. I thought it warranted it's own thread.

With a heavy heart, I am slowly beginning to realize that Donald Trump has a very good chance of becoming the Republican Nominee. His free reign among the golden microphones and Television cameras has given him an estimated $2 Billion worth of airtime! All the candidates combined don't have that much power. As much as I'd like to see a Kasich Presidency. Marco Rubio isn't interested in being his VP. Though he may just be bitter, and a deal could be made later at the convention. I don't see what Marco brings to the table now that the political world is turned upside down with his own future in question.

While there does seem to be some movement on the Ted Cruz campaign. Something of an establishment effort to get behind the lesser of two evils. I have always liked Ted Cruz he is so passionate and articulates conservative talking points better than anybody working in Congress! If Kasich doesn't win anymore states, I will likely be voting for Cruz and for good reason. He is one of the few senators who stood against the impossible concept of net neutrality and while Graham and Romney have both publicly showed support for the new rising star. Cruz has an uphill battle and there are still many waiting in the shadows nervous about supporting him. He has built a formidable network of conservative lobbyists and operators but as we saw with JEB! it could be all for naught.

So where does that leave us as Donald Trump seems to have destroyed the Republican Party single-handedly? Ted Cruz keeps on insisting that he wants and it is a two man race between him and Donald Trump. There are some Republican shakers and movers who want to stir things up at the convention. All that is wishful thinking if something drastic doesn't change.

So what can start to bring down Donald Trump? Yes, you've all heard this story before something will, but it may be the most unlikely. Everything from the Chicago Rallies to Trump University was supposed to be bring him down. He was really only supposed to stay in until the end of summer. Then get tired of it, but this was what he seemingly was born for! The liberals have been left fuming as they ripped out and hurled each of their playbook insults at Donald Trump. He's a racist, he insults women, he's wealthy, but those didn't stick. He's not wealthy, he's a flip flopper, he has a horrible business record. Try as Republicans challengers did, none of that seems to be bother the trumpeteers. Then, Donald Trump said something that sums up his supporters quite well: "I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn't lose voters." This would have killed someone like Romney and likely did (47% anybody?), but with Trump the supporters and ironically the media just shrug it off.

Would a campaign charged with assaulting a reporter change that? Would a conservative media site so into Trump that they become bankrupt change that?

No less than a few days ago, I predicted that due to these major polarizations inside the conservative media there will be a YUUUUGe shake-up depending on where loyalties lie. I thought that if Trump's campaign was successful heads would roll. If Trump's campaign wasn't successful different people would get fired or contracts re-negotiated. However, things seem to be stirring already.

Trump is already destroying one media outlet and making people lose their jobs, not creating them. Like he says he does! Due to various different takes on the incident in question. It is now widely believed in both camps that Breitbart reporter Michelle Fields was grabbed and yanked by Trump's campaign manager hard enough to give her bruises. In the age of free press, this shouldn't happen. No campaign manager has the right to yank a reporter away from the candidate receiving questions. It's a WTF moment in the Trump campaign that has them scrambling!

............Analysis Continued Below............

It is a story that should have disappeared within 24 hours like most of the other trump stories, but it hasn't! It has stuck for almost a week and in Trump's always-on 24 hr a day news cycle, that's an eternity! Fields is being used as a rather effective punching bag to keep hitting Trump where he is weakest. His record in dealing with female reporters.

Now, during all this time I notice that Trump keeps saying he doesn't want to do anymore debates. I am sure part of it has to do with his massive ego and the fact the he already believes he has won the nomination, but he is far off from even clinching that. The other part of it, I believe has to be that he doesn't want the rest of the world that doesn't read media-related stories to find out about this. As the moderators do not like when he attacks one of their own no matter which company they may work for. He would be hit hard with this story in a debate and the other candidates would point that out as well.

The way to get places in politics is to get in front of a popular issue. Donald Trump has done that with immigration. Even if one likes immigrants, as I generally do, they compete for jobs and depress incomes. They also compete for places to live and cause rent increases. This benefits the employers and land lords of the Republican Party. It is not good for the white blue collar workers who since 1972 have been necessary for Republican electoral victories. They have finally figured that out.

The jobs they compete for and the wages they depress are at the lower end or the very hard labor jobs- you want to pour concrete here in Oklahoma when it's 100 and WHAT??!!! in July???

I don't think many 'real Americans' compete for the places immigrants rent. Least ways not around here- unless Trump is going for the Meth head vote... ;)

No Trump has pushed hate, fear and envy to a new high. His 'popularity' is limited to a certain demographic that will not get him a win. Will splinter the party and he will go down as the worst loser in a General if he makes it that far... :peace

The Wall Street Journal May 1, 2015

Each year, the U.S. graduates twice as many students with STEM degrees as are hired in STEM occupations. Contrary to the suggestion that these students are finding better, higher-paying jobs, the opposite is true. About 35% of science students, 55% of technology students, 20% of engineering students and 30% of math students who recently graduated are now working in jobs that don’t require any four-year college degree. As further proof of no shortage, wages in the profitable IT industry have been largely flat for more than a decade.

Yet despite the enormous supply of job-seeking Americans, two-thirds of entry-level hires in the tech industry are now going to foreign workers.

Ummm where has The Orange Guy railed against graduate school immigrants??? He is ranting about drug dealing, criminal border jumpers... I have yet to hear him say anything against educated immigrants.

Now just between us you think Donald will stop letting SKILLED workers in???

I don't know if the flat salary in bachelor degree fields is due to too many graduates- or a collapse of the IT industry after the Dot.com crash in 2000. (my wife works in IT- got 125 an hour before now 60 is the new norm and the field is dominated by decades of experience workers.) I guess some think it's due to imported IT workers- mostly it is due to cranking out over niched graduates in a field that contracted heavily after their collapse.

But to be sure, many companies are outsourcing everything from call centers to research- it's called a global economy and if you think there is some way to stop that might take a lesson from the buggy whip makers... :peace

Sadly, I don't think it matters. Trump could kill Ann Coulter with his bare hands on TV and his lemmings would cheer loudly.

Wait, weren't you on the bandwagon that criticized Cruz for the running over Trump joke?

Sure but if those jobs need to get done, and they do not have access to low cost labor, what occurs?

I suggest you find a quote before you try to call someone a hypocrite. I never heard of any "running over Trump joke"....

'Real' Americans whine about how the youngsters today don't know how to work for an honest buck???

They're treating Trump like they did Palin, they are throwing everything they've got at him.

trump's been taking on the media since day 1, you can't stop him, you can't stop us.

I worked for Microstrategy for a little over a year and that company was an H1B abuser and their salary scale was very depressed because of it. When I was hired to a team to fix one of their projects I was paid somewhat competitively because I was already in a job that paid competitively. The trouble I found when I got there was that I was paid more than some VPs and they were not happy about it. That company made a habit of recruiting in China and India and paying engineers $50k, which seemed like a kings ransom to some living in India or China, but they all quickly realized how little money that was in Northern Virginia.

"his lemmings "Lemming
Rodent
A lemming is a small rodent, usually found in or near the Arctic, in tundra biomes. The area south of the Antarctic Circle is known as the Antarctic, and the zone immediately to the north is called the Southern Temperate Zone. The equivalent line of latitude in the northern hemisphere is the Arctic Circle.
so i am a rodent and all this time i thought i was an AMERICAN,oh and i am also a vet ,thanks for your kind words brother, you sound like a racist liberal to me,calling trump voters names how grown up of you.

Trump is now learning a hard lesson that politics is a team sport. When you spend an entire primary calling everyone who disagrees with you a jerk and a liar you run out of friends when the field narrows.

He can whine and complain about Kasich staying in the race only so that Trump will lose, and he's absolutely correct on Kasich's motives, but as a politician he should have thought a little more about how to make Kasich an ally in defeat than an enemy.

The wage associated with it goes up (if the job is needed).

The wage associated with it goes up (if the job is needed).

And then the consumer pitches a fit about the high cost and looks for cheaper sources- competition then comes back into play- look at Walmart going from 'MADE IN THE USA' to 99.9% 'MADE IN CHINA'.

More likely the wage will stay the same and desperate workers will do the job for a bit, then quit resulting in shoddy workmanship... (something supply and demand wonks don't talk about)... :peace
