She's worse then that. She grew up in privilege and in the world of academia. She went into Media after Princeton kicked her the curb and denied her tenure.
 
But there is no one more worthy, and more capable, of holding that conversation than America's most foremost public intellectual—Melissa Harris-Perry.

There may well be intellectuals with more insight. And there are surely public figures with a greater audience. But there is no one who communicates the work of thinking to more people with more rigor and effect than Harris-Perry.

I thought Chris Matthews was a political hack until I saw this lady. Hope she never has a show on any channel ever again.

the problem is progressives tend not to be expected to follow. you can try to lead them, but they will choose whether to adopt your views as their own
in contrast, not unlike the evangelists who are included within their cohort, the quasi-conservatives want to be told what to believe. no thinking required. see little miss booboo and duck dynasty
now that the msnbc executives realize that their TV demographic is significantly unlike that of faux news, they are making dramatic changes; away from viewpoints such as melissa harris-perry's and instead toward straight news programming (at least until the evening - again, like fox)

That is such garbage. Liberals and conservatives are not people that follow their own drummer. They are people that need a leader and someone that tells them what to care about and what the correct answer that issue they are being told to care about is.
 
Has anyone missed her? I didn't think so.
