Donald Trump's Silly Claim of Bias Against Megyn Kelly

I thought that Trump's claim of bias was reasonable. At least as far as that debate some time ago. Kelly tried to turn Trump's comments about Rosie O'Donnell into a case of misogynism. Haven't we had enough of this tribalism? A critical comment about a person does not automatically signify bias, bigotry, racism, misogynism, or any similar belief. It is simply a comment about a specific individual. One can comment about Obama without being a racist, Palin without being a misogynist, Bloomberg without being an anti-Semitic.
It seemed clear that Kelly was biased against Trump. A good reporter would have had data on women in Trump's employment or comments about women as a group. Not just a comment about an individual who happened to be a woman.

Your comment is so dead on accurate it should be made into a sticky.

The idea that ANY candidate for president would blow off a debate because they disliked one of the moderators is absurd. While "gotcha" type questions are generally boring they are also part of the game, not that anything Kelly asked Trump was a "gotcha".

This is all part of the Trump media act. He's trying to be a political outsider and a media outsider at the same time. This way he gets to play the underdog which is a role he has played his entire career.

And its working.

I'm sorry I have to explain it to you. If it's fair for one, it's fair for the other. None of the mods have yet to ask Old Cankles why she calls women bimbos. Why haven't all the women she said nasty things about been brought up?

See how easy it is!

Yeah, that's not what you said. You said Kelly had no business asking Trump about ODonnell, but if someone asked Clinton about her comments 'that might be fair'.

If you meant something else, then post what you meant without the wiseass, childish comments.

Trump campaign said we will not participate in Thursday's debate.

Without Trump it is hard to admit but if it is only Cruz, Rubio, Christie , and Bush then I got some paint drying outside I need to watch.

That's not a website with an opinion worth sharing.
OK. Of course, this subject is basically an opinion. I heard the exchange I heard and have my opinion. And you have yours. It comes down to an opinion.

It's clear you don't understand the meaning of equal distribution. I don't have time to train you. Adios!

Of course it's calculated!!

Trump knows that no moderator will shy away from an "About that 'I could shoot somebody and still on top of the polls'" comment. He doesn't want to answer that question on the debate stage and his "feud" with Megyn Kelly is what he's using as an excuse. His hope is that skipping the debate will be talked about more than his earlier comment. Furthermore, if the moderators bring that issue up for the other candidates to discuss he then gets to play the "victim" card and he LOVES his victim card.

You're dead wrong. If he seriously needs to explain what he said about how people say he could shoot, and that he in fact did not say that, it's beyond stupid that can be fixed. Megyn Kelly is beyond that kind of stupid.

The media is blind to this entire election cycle. I'm happy to see them poked. Megyn needs to go back to being interviewed on Howard Stern about how great sex was while she was pregnant.

It's clear you don't understand the meaning of equal distribution. I don't have time to train you. Adios!

Actually I do understand what you are saying NOW. Both should be treated the same.

But your 1st post was confusing and gibberish. It happens. I'm sorry you, like Trump are so thin skinned you can not admit your mistakes.

Ciao.

This woman has the tits and the ass, but what else has she got?

I dont see it.

Trump is going to win this war I predict. We are sick of women getting jobs that they are not qualified for, and I think that at base this is why Trump is picking on her.

I am at 80% confidence on this.

"who the hell would want to woo her, she is average in every way" (Trump) was the first clue.

Kelly was a professional journalist, asking tough questions. And no, Trump's quoted comments were not all about Rosie O'Donnell. Trump is a crude buffoon, and Kelly exposed him as such.

This is not a professional journalist. She is not at all regarded as such. She's nothing but an opinion piece/talking head:

Generally being negative and lashing out at just about anyone has been Trump's campaign path for enough time now that it makes sense for this nonsense between Trump and Kelly to continually come up. And you right in that Trump's supporters will eat up whatever controversy he can generate next.

Of course it does. It's good theater for Trump. For it's as they say in show business: "Any publicity is good publicity."

WTF? You didn't seriously write this.

What she has is a law degree, 8 years experience as a practicing attorney, almost 15 years experience as a media personality, and a highly rated successful show.

As a woman who has voted in Republican primaries since 1980, it's posts like this and thoughts like this from Trump supporters that have made me already decide that Trump is a dangerous person.

These days anyone can be a "professional journalist", she's a talking head, replaceable with any blond bimbette that can read a teleprompter. Regardless of your or her feelings about Trump, she proved herself inadequate to the task of moderator. Whether she was ordered to go after Trump, or she did it on her own, she shouldn't be given another bite at the apple.

As was pointed out by others in another thread though I don't think this is any longer about Kelly. Ailes statement was in very bad taste and childish. I am NO fan of Trump. And IMO his thin-skinned it's all about him act is already very tiring and old.

But Ailes was out of line.

In reality, Ailes response could have been written by Trump. When Trump gets treated like Trump treats others he gets pouty. Trump keeps arguing that he is changing the debate in politics. I agree with him, he just doesn't seem to like where he is taking it.

I have to hand it to Trump, he is working the MSM and they don't even know it.

Iowa has a unique event. For months polls have claimed Trump is doing good in Iowa, but the caucus is unique. Those of us in the state don't get a sense that Trump is going to do well on caucus night. It requires a greater time commitment and even the "anonymous" GOP vote is far from anonymous. These Trump supporters will have to come out of the shadows to show support, and I strongly doubt it happens.

So he has created a built in excuse. he skipped the debates right before the caucus. of course he came far from meeting his polling numbers, Iowan's are unhappy with his choice to skip the debate held in their state.

well played Trump. You are an ass, but I have to hand it to your election team. they are playing this perfectly.

This whole thing should be just more evidence that Trump is an emotional child and as such is not qualified to be President. Of course, such antics are consistent with narcissistic personality disorder, which the guy clearly suffers from. He should get some help and maybe make another run in eight years.

Kelly is biased, just like any other talking head you'll see on TV.

Trump is a loudmouth who tries to bully anyone who doesn't kiss his rear.

I think I'll leave it at that, since I do not want to think about Trump right now. It annoys my neurons.

I watch very little TV so I could be missing something, but I do look around the internet most days and it does not happen that something interesting turns out to be her idea, or that I read one of her quotes and think "ya, you nailed it". Where I roam she is invisible and useless, and when I have seen her on TV she looks like she has not much is going on upstairs.

I dont care if she is an R or not, I am not one.

I did not know that she has a law degree. I tend to respect that. I note though that the school she went to is rated by US News as the 138th out of 149 that are ranked, which I gotta say fits with my impression that this woman ain't much. "Average in every way" Donald says...ya, that fits.

The poster to which you are responding is pretty typical as a follower of Trump. Sadly you're right. It is scary.

I didn't say anything about her being an "R". I'm the Republican woman who has faithfully voted for every Republican candidate since 1980. I will not vote for that man, I don't care who his opponent is.

I respect you tres and generally agree with your posts, but this I've heard in over a dozen presidential elections from members of both parties. Such proclamations rarely make it to the voting booth.

sure they do. turnout is king in these elections.

if candidates lack enthusiasm, it shows in GOTV efforts.

I've never made the proclamation that I won't vote for the "R" candidate like this. I will cast votes for everything else on my ballot, but I can't vote for Trump unless something changes, CB. He worries me. I won't vote for Hillary either.

No, they don't. It's a primary election thing. Party voters say, "I'll never vote X if X is the candidate". X become candidate, party line voter still pulls lever for X at the voting booth in the generals. Reason generally given, "lesser of two evils".

I wasn't terribly enthusiastic over Dole, but on election day, I turned out. I will turn out in November because of the Kelly Ayotte election, but I won't vote for POTUS if it's Donald versus Hillary.
