ABC News transforms Hillary's fiction into fact

This thread isn't about Hillary lying... we are all accustomed to that as it happens so often.

This is about ABC News, a major broadcast news network, using a news story to transform a presidential candidates lies 2 weeks earlier into predictions, even though they themselves reported them as falsehoods when they happened.

Any comment on that?

ISIS could use Mother Teresa as a recruiting tool. The fact is Hillary has said many things that could be used as a recruiting tool. There's even a picture of her in the war room when they took out Osama Bin Laden. It's dishonest to say Trump could be used as an ISIS recruiting tool when you yourself can be too.

Democrats, including Hillary, have warned for years that the Right's blatant anti Muslim rhetoric, not to
mention military aggression, was and is recruitment fodder. Even so Hillary was technically incorrect. How about comparing the seriousness of her misstatement with that of Trump's video of "Mexicans" swarming over the border.

What should be ticking you off is that Trump's rhetoric was so inflammatory that it COULD be used by extremists as a recruiting tool. It's an old truism of warfare that you don't plan for what you personally THINK your enemy will do, but for what your enemy CAN do. Failure to planning for what the enemy CAN do leads to the oldest and worst of all failures of generalship: underestimation of the enemy.

So it doesn't really matter that you're ticked off that Hillary said or predicted or suggested or whatever. What DOES matter is that Trump's rhetoric was so inflammatory that it DOES make a great recruiting tool for the extremists...and if you'll check the translation of the video, it draws a direct connection between an al-Qaeda leader's prediction that "the West will reject you and no longer accept you" (or words to that effect), and Trump's frankly idiotic call for ending the opportunity of Muslims to come to America.

In other words, you need to lay the blame where it belongs - instead of blaming the one who pointed out where such inflammatory language had led or would lead or whatever, you need to be blaming the one who was using such inflammatory language. The LAST thing we should be doing is that which (like the torture at Abu Ghirab) gives the enemy wonderful recruiting tools...because sometimes those who are recruited are already here in America.

Sure. "Come join ISIS because, you know, Trump." That's as not as effective as saying, "Come join ISIS because, you know, Clinton. Remember our beloved aspirin factory."

FYI, I'm addressing the actual overarching issue, not the "well, whatever Trump did doesn't matter 'cause Hillary wasn't as accurate as I think she should be" excuse that you're using to attack her and ABC News. The overarching issue isn't Hillary at all...but Trump's inflammatory rhetoric that IS being used as a recruiting tool for Islamic extremists.

Can Hillary help it if she is clairvoyant? Actually it didn't even take much to foresee this. ISIS's goals and methodology are pretty transparent.

The west should change NOTHING because of ISIS or other terrorist group, including the dolts held up in Oregon. Stop and think what their goals are. World domination? No, they want to destroy our way of life, including our freedoms. And reduction or change in policy is a win for them.

I agree, Trump is a great poster boy for them, just as Clinton, Bush and Obama.

But Trump has the right to say what he likes, so do I, so do you. Hillary and her crown would like to change that, based on fears she will have the government determine what is offensive to terrorists and try to get any of those comments banned

Hillary's claim is the molehill, and Trump's call for halting all Muslims from coming into America (and registering all Muslims already in America) is the mountain.

But you keep concentrating on how that molehill's even bigger than that mountain...for that's what is demanded by current conservative dogma.

As an indoctrinated conservative, are you just simply incapable of distinguishing the molehill (a politician whose claim was not true at the moment she said it, but turned out to be almost prophetic two weeks later) from the mountain (the politician whose inflammatory rhetoric IS being used to recruit extremists to kill Americans)?

I already stated that all the major news sources lie to further their own agenda, that pretty much covers it these days. The difference is I am one of those that is an equal opportunity critic, and do not ignore the failings of those I prefer over those I do not.

Nope that is only simply the argument of those with their own agenda and little argument to substantiate their own claims. The FACT is that they All Do Lie, maybe you can discount that by showing us which does not Lie and we can all have a good laugh.
