Bill O'Liely's very bad, terrible, no good year

OK, I won't let him run for POTUS if you won't let Hillary "sniper fire" Clinton run. ;)

One can easily ignore a lying cable news journalist but once they get into a public position of power it gets much harder to do.

I have to say, it irks me more when so called journalists lie than when politicians do it.

Watching several news sources is not a bad thing, while using only those that confirm your bias is.
I would not have recommended the Völkischer Beobachter as a reliable source of events in the Third Reich or Правда for news of the Soviet Union.

i'm still amazed that one Free Republic thread brought down Dan Rather. i liked him; thought he was a pretty good journalist. however, the real news is held to a different standard than the pretend news. ****, Olbermann had to hack away for years before he got canned.

As opposed to O'Reilly who has only gotten to do it for decades.... Yes. The O'Reilly Factor now has decades under its belt.

Olbermann was too over the top. on the other side, the same thing happened to Glenn Beck. there's a difference between being a run of the mill hack and a foaming CTer. O'Reilly reins in his "**** IT, WE'LL ****ING DO IT LIVE LOLWTFWHARBLGARBL" just enough to keep his job and audience. of course, i can't say for sure, because i haven't watched his show in years. he could be calling on the president to resign every night like Olbermann did, but i kind of doubt it.

He has been attacking guests for nearly 2 decades with impunity. The difference was that it was fine to do so when it was relatives of 9/11 victims. Touch St. Reagan and the horns of Gondor go off.

Here is a mash up of O'Man and Bias in media, a really good read:

O'Reilly told Trump that Esquire is calling him "a bigot and everything else. You know that?" he asked.

"Well, they can call me that. Then I guess they just, you know, look, it's the mainstream media stuff. They go that way. But I do hate what's happening to America so in that way, maybe it's a very accurate depiction. I do hate to see--

"That's a good spin on it," O'Reilly cut in. "I was surprised you talk to these guys. They're not looking out for you, Donald. They are just not."

"Well, I mean I understand. We get a very unfair press. I get a very, very unfair press," said Trump, who has dominated both the conservative and liberal press for months.

O'Reilly asked Trump why he gives liberal media outlets the opportunity to hammer him.

"Because I'm always giving people a chance to be fair, Bill -- always," Trump responded
