Of course they aren't wrong. But I also never saw any politician say that prayers are going to fix this. "My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families". How does that even imply "My prayers will solve the problem of 2 radical Jihadists in America taking guns to Christmas parties and shooting up his co-workers"?

The Daily News outdid itself this time. This was as ignorant as anything I've ever seen them publish, and I've seen them publish a lot of ignorant things. They either are too stupid to realize that a very large percentage of people in this country find comfort in prayer, or they are just too stupid to realize that politicians aren't offering up a solution to a big problem when they offer prayers for the victims and their families.

Gun control has zero to do with this.

They weren't done, apparently. A youtube Troll disguised as a journalist by the name of Linda Stasi has written an article for NYDN accusing one of the victims as being no better than his murderer because he was an NRA member and posted mean things about Islam.

It's like the NYDN is committing a journalistic verision of death by cop. They are trying to alienate all of their readers in a hope that they will go bankrupt.

Anyone with more that two functioning brain cells would be talking about how to stop the killings, not stop the guns. These people had LOTS of weapons that could have used other than guns, they just chose to the guns instead of the pipe bombs to kill with. Had they been denied access to guns, they simply would have used the pipe bombs. So what we should be are the PEOPLE who are getting radicalized, not the tools they use. But then, that would require that people actually stop and think instead of just running around in circles demanding that the tools they use be banned and that we ignore the cause of the radicalization.

It's lazy to think that banning or even limiting access to guns is going to have a marked impact on radicalized nutters wreaking havoc.

Your link is probably silly so I didn't click on it. Suffice it to say if you are looking to take out a large amount of people aka Paris the go to weapon is a long gun supplemented by high explosives that are MUCH more powerful than a pipe bomb which is weak and unreliable. Sure enough the SB terrorists pipe bombs didn't detonate.

Thailand is 95% Ethnic Thai.

Austrailia is 94% white, the whitest nation on earth.

Switzerland in over 90% white. (now one can point out German 65%, French 18%, Italian 10%, Romansch 1%, but they share many commonalities).

Canada, 89% white.


Please to explain how these places are "multi cultural successes".

The point is not that politicians say things like prayer will fix this, the problem is that they use prayer to hide behind the fact that they refuse to fix this. Then, when they're done praying they come out with buy more in guns. That in short makes it seem like prayer and purchasing are the only solutions they have to gun violence. First you pray, then you ask Santa for guns. I mean, the entire thing is absolutely absurd. They really should do more than give out some version of ask the magical friend in heaven to watch over us and then arm us.

People who call this out are reacting to their 12th century BCE mentality on dealing with issues affecting millions of people. Do we still ask people to pray for lakes when they're polluted? Do we stone witches to improve our crops? What other outdated acts of piety do we constantly refer to when we can't figure out how to deal with a particular issue affecting our communities? I think that's the problem. I mean, I don't even care that they're being hypocritical after that whole #Pray4ParisZomg nonsense.

They still have a point. It's time to call out these politicians who simply refuse to do more than recite their incantations when asked to deal with a problem.

Well, it isn't because of the Second Amendment. How about we look to media coverage of these crap shoots as relates to copycats looking for recognition? Or medicating kids with speed like drugs starting at five years old? Or the poor-me generation? Or our nonexistent mental health treatments? Or friends and family not stepping up when a family member is so obviously a nutcase?

Chinese are everywhere in Bangkok and there's lots in Chiang Mai too. They're accepted as members of Thai society, unlike Malaysia.

Sidney is one the most ethnically diverse cities in the world. Melbourne is right up there. Vietnamese have been accepted seamlessly, and Chinese too.

Switzerland pretty much demonstrates the ethnic diversity of western Europe. We're talking multicultural, not multicolour, right? German, French and Italian is pretty diverse, not to mention that there's four official languages, and the people make it work.

Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver are as ethnically diverse as North America gets. You can walk blocks in Vancouver and not hear any English, or see any on the storefront signs. There's road signs in Chinese and Punjabi.

We're talking about two different things. Multiculturalism, to me, can include exclusively white societies. French and English together in New Brunswick is a multicultural society. Switzerland is a multicultural society.
You want to focus on colour lines? Look in the Caribbean. Trinidad and Tobago combines White, Black and East Indian successfully. Cuba works across colour lines. Lots of places do. Venezuela. Madagascar. Hell, there's no racial tension in Canada and there's lots of places where there's large communities of brown people.
