Rupert Murdoch Buys National Geographic

https://www.washingtonpost.com/life...9f034e-56f0-11e5-8bb1-b488d231bba2_story.html

As someone who has been a fan of Nat Geo since the age of 6 I cannot express enough just how troubling this is!

Has Jeff Bezos purchase of the Washington Post made it better or worse?? In fact, I think it has become even more popular, established, and mainstream under his rule. It's hard to know who is a crazier type of person Bezos VS Murdoch, but there are good examples of crazy people buying things to make them great again. Chief among them being Steve Jobs.... But I rest my case.

Wait I think I just made a reference to Trump somewhere in there...:lamo

i'm sad to hear that. i hope that he doesn't **** it up with his hyperpartisan nonsense. i was also disappointed when he bought WSJ.

There are very few news pieces that make me shocked or sad, and this is one of them.

National Geographic is about to be eviscerated by the same empire that brings us the age of media misinformation and misdirection.

They have always covered topics nicely in such an objective fashion, with wonderful editorials with photo pieces attached. How many areas of work in Nat Geo will now become taboo because of this man's ownership?

For shame.

You know maybe it was a business decision and not an ideological one.

Print magazines are on the out so maybe they needed the backing of somebody with more money to keep going.

It's dying. Why do you think that Murdoch would spend $725 million in order to eviscerate it?

Are most people in Iran anti-semitic?
sorry for bad english

no.we havnt problem with jewish.maybe iranian are anti arab because of islam attack at 1400 years ago and irAQ war and stealing our history like persian golf and our ancient scientist
my point for( all worlds media is in jewish hand.) because they are smart

just search it ( Jewish Journalist's Exclusive Look Inside Iran) in google ant read the report
maybe 20-25 % of iranian are anti israel .and reason = ( israel crime like killing children and iran regime propeganda and Advertising )
but iranian arent anti semitic.but Unfortunately most iranian dont like and hate arabian:(

The WSJ still has good business journalism. Just an insane editorial policy.

Its gone insane since Mourdoch took over. It was predicted and he actually broke a verbal agreement not to do so... the founders are not happy about it.

What's gone insane? The editorial line hasn't changed in the slightest. What's changed is a vast broadening of the news coverage.

The editorial line has changed considerably. Today they no longer recognize the difference between conservatism and partisanship.

LOL, so much angst!

Yeah, strange how some people don't like it when one of the few bastions of credibility gets absorbed by a corporation that profits from info-tainment.

Murdoch will have every liberal (incl liberaltarians) and their locations plotted on every map published in their magazine. Then every boob of a tribeswoman will be covered with a black box. :lamo

The new issue is now out! ;)

Yeah, much better for it to shut down for good, I suppose.

this thread cracks me up. Nat GEo is run by liberals and has been for years.
"No problem"-liberals

Nat Geo is no being run by a conservative:

" HUGE PROBLEM...right wing bias ...SQUAWKKKK" - liberal.
