Washington (CNN)Donald Trump said Thursday he believes getting asked about the heads of major terrorist organizations amounts to a "gotcha question."

Trump, the front-runner for the GOP nomination, blasted conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt in an interview and said it is "ridiculous" to be asked about who the heads of Hamas, Hezbollah, al-Nusra and ISIS are."

Seriously?....you want to be the President of the country heading the war on terror, but do not even know who you are fighting?

He went on to say he would find out "after" he was elected...do we want a new president that waits until he is in office to "Figure Out" what his job is?

Yes and No, but Trump definitely could have handled it better that is for sure. The "gotcha" is entirely based on the intent of the question, and usually they are about trying to determine the knowledge base of the candidate. It is all reasonable to ask about.

Assuming for a moment that Trump cannot name all the leaders of the various terror organizations we seem to be up against does not necessarily mean he does "not even know who you (we) are fighting." But, I will agree with you that someone running for President should be as versed as possible on the key organizations we engage (or helping someone else engage.) It would be wise for Trump to have knowledge of not just the leader but also the areas of operation for ISIS, Al-Qaeda, Boko Haram, Al-Nusrah Front, Hezbollah, and Hamas at least.

You think they'll ask Bernie those questions? And even if Trump knew the names, birthdays and SSN's of each terrorist, it wouldn't be a measure of his leadership skills.

Not quite but I am getting at, but I understand your comments.

Arguably, Republican politics took us down this road of being tough on terrorism and tough on really anyone else's interests in the Middle East as contrary to our own. I am not the one you have issue with here but if Trump is going to lead the party he is leading the party who claims the better ideology and method to handling the various terrorism networks, handling Syria, handling Iran, handling our puppets in Iraq and Afghanistan, etc. That does not get Sanders, Clinton, and whoever else left off the hook if they do not know the same level of details, just making a comment that Trump could have been more prepared for foreign affairs related questions being the party that complains the most about Obama's take on things. Right or wrong, on either side of the debate, this is where we are politically.

I'll also add I found his response on delegation a bit problematic. Yes, he will have to delegate action as all leaders do. But, it is not that wise to say he will delegate policy design and Trump should know a little about the key players in these terrorism organizations he presumably will have to craft policy about. He should know who they are, where they operate, what they claim they want, who they claim they are fighting, etc. Basic policy means knowing about those things, if Trump does not know about all this we have a real issue here.

"QUDS FORCES". That is a gotcha.

The Quds Force (also spelled Ghods or Qods) (Persian: نیروی قدس‎ Nīrū-ye Qods or سپاه قدس Sepâh-e Qods), in English: the Jerusalem Force, is a special forces unit of Iran's Revolutionary Guards and is responsible for their extraterritorial operations
That is bull**** to expect Trump or anyone except Hillary Clinton to know who the Quds forces are.

I don't remember anyone asking Obama if he knew each and every terrorist leader. In fact I don't remember anyone asking jack **** except maybe what his favor color was and how much he loved Michelle. The SOB didn't get vetted a single iota, but was ****ing fawned over while the media got a tingle up its leg. So pardon me if I don't think it's appropriate to needle Trump on tiny little details about terrorists.

Only questions about what newspapers you read are gotcha questions.

I don't rally care if they know the names of individuals. I care more that they understand the intentions and motivations of the enemy rather than individual's names.
