MSNBC cancels 3 Liberal Shows

I used to watch Morning Joe on MSNBC until I couldn't stand the relentless propaganda any longer. Fox is much less ideological.

Morning Joe blows.

As a guy that goes back and forth between all three, and also real news (such as what is shown on PBS and local news as well as online), out of the 3 I've noticed CNN is getting dumber, not necessarily left or right just dumb, and their normal news is pretty straight arrow, same with Fox, although their pundit shows are horrible propaganda and their morning show is ****ing atrocious. I think MSNBC's "Normal news" shows its bias the worst out of all of them. The shows they are getting rid of, I could do without them. That Ed guy is a dumbass, and I wish they would get rid of Al Sharpton I just hate the sound of that guys voice and how everything has to be about race even little petty ****. I get that racism still exist but man, calm down.

Now the shows I do enjoy on MSNBC is Morning Joe which I think is the least biased, most intelligent politically charged morning show out there, although it gets old that Joe Scarbough has to remind viewers every 5 minutes that he used to be a Republican senator. We get it Joe. You were still there before the party went bat**** insane.

I think Maddow does a great job, is typically very gracious to her guest Republican or Democrat, and she always finds quirky little stories or anecdotes that no one else does. I think she should be MSNBC's top slot. As for Chris Matthews, I don't hate the guy simply because he seems to be in on the joke that he is a loud mouth troll. I could imagine him being the guy that serves food to drunks at a corner hotdog stand when the bars close, and part of the experience of that stand would be him berating them and rushing them out.

On the subject of Maddow, depending on how Jon Stewart's replacement does, there may be a vacuum for his brand of "edutainment" and while her's isn't nearly as funny, it is far more informative and she seems to have borrowed quite a few elements from him and I think she admitted to as much when she interviewed him, so I could see her popularity actually rising here in the coming months.

I hear this idiotic meme constantly bandied about by libs. Any evidence that Fox News' audience is primarily retired people, any more than PMSNBC?

Yea.

Alex Wagner’s show was one of three cut by MSNBC this week. “The Ed Show” and “The Cycle” were also canceled as the network moves away from liberal commentary. I guess there starting to realize elite liberal talk doesn't sell as no one wants to hear it :)

This is redundant, MSNBC cancelled 3 shows.

News "commentary" shows are for people who need someone else to tell them what and how to think. Maybe that is why Fox News does so well.

;)

Doesn't that show the majority of those who watch Fox News are below 54 years old?
Under 55: 58%
Over 55: 42%
So how are the majority of people who watch Fox News retired or old? It's a 16 point difference the other way...

How in the hell did Sharpton survive?? Oh wait, silly question.

I cant speak for the cycle or Alex Wagner since I never watched them, but the Ed Show just wasn't very good. I like Hardball and I like the guy that comes on later with the glasses, but Ed and Sharpton are just unwatchable. Liberal shows can survive, they just need better hosts.

Ed had very rare moments of being watchable, mostly in his shouting/over the topness being funny, but generally was terrible. Sharpton is awful, why any would watch his show I don't know (not even talking about his views either, just as a presenter on TV he sucks massively).

Chris Hayes is okay (think that's the guy with the glasses), though he was better when he did weekend mornings then in primetime.

Not sure how well Liberal shows would do though, think they are always going to face an uphill battle to get views. To me it seems/feels younger liberals hang around internet sites and places like daily kos or watch things like The Daily Show, while older liberals don't seem that interested in "Entertainment News," organizations like Fox/MSNBC. Just my opinion though then anything backed by numbers.

Thank you for reminding us of the leftist talking points about Fox.

Everytime I see Carleen posting it's something about "Faux News" or some other lame, stale, annoying diatribe against Fox. It was popular back when Olbermann was on MSNBC - let's move on now.

I accidentally hit MSNBC a couple days ago or so and I had never seen Wagner's show before. Dear lord was it awful. It felt like I was watching The Five, but without the hope for relevance. Wagner kept trying to work in this rotary phone gag (she even had one for a prop during an in-studio call) that made no sense. Perhaps this was a show demonstrating that it was done caring anymore, or perhaps this was the product to begin with. I don't know, but it made me wonder how someone financed this to begin with.

I haven't heard of those shows, but I can tell you that liberals don't typically enjoy having their opinions shouted at them.

Liberals don't need to hear a cable station to guide them unlike Fox who mascerades as a news source.

You three are absolutely correct. Liberals don't want or need their opinions shouted at them or on the cable box. Liberals get their opinions from bloggers and youtube videos instead.

And lest Dem Soc feels left out in the naming, but he too deserves to be mentioned, as it's been made clear to us over the years that he likes his opinions from vloggers. ;)

Fox is a republican network that has been repeatedly known for lying and altering their reporting. They are not a news source that is fair and balanced as they claim.

Remember when MSNBC edited the video of the man at a townhall meeting with a gun strapped to his hip? The MSNBC crew then started talking about how this is racially motivated against black people. Weird how they edited the video to not show that the man with the gun was ............... a BLACK man. LOL!

Remember when Andrea Mitchell and crew doctored a video of Mitt Romney at a Wawa?

Remember when Rachel Maddow openly admitted to editing John McCain in order to smear him?

Remember when MSNBC selectively edited the testimony of a Sandy Hook father to make it look like protesters interrupted him?

Remember when MSNBC edited the video of the Million Vets March to make it look like there was racism where there was none?

Shall I go on?

MSNBC is the Air Amerika of television. CNN is trying hard to get there too.

I wish these bitter-clingers luck in their pursuit of the bottom.

While both sides are for the most part there to persuade the viewers using one sided views the left is grotesque for it never ending smart aleck and sarcastic tone to their rhetoric as if they are so correct it is ridiculous to assume different. Limbaugh given, is comedic in his slant and he knows it and that is how he makes millions but he is one while the line up on the left is one smart ass after another. They remind us of children that never were disciplined after talking back to the parents with "shut up mom, you're stupid".

I didn't know that The Ed Show (joke) was even still on the air. No loss. He's a moron.

Remember when NBC (MSNBC's evil sister station) edited the 911 call George Zimmerman made the night he had the confrontation with Trayvon Martin to remove the part where the dispatcher asks Zimmerman what color Martin was, and MSNBC ran it over and over and over on their shows, making it seem as if Zimmerman said Martin looked suspicious because he was black?

Or when NBC faked the pick-up truck bursting into flames . . . .

If it makes you feel better. MSNBC does not pretend to be unbiased unlike fair and balanced Fox which is a joke!

It lists the median age of Fox viewers as 48.8, which would mean that exactly half of their audience is younger.

Yes. Conservatism has finally triumphed in every possible way! It's all over. Obama and every Democrat in Congress announce their resignations on Monday!
