The Rise of Megyn Kelly

Interesting article.

I expect if things continue similarly she will be top anchor on Fox eventually, from the sounds of things.

Frankly as I don't watch TV at all, let alone news, I haven't really seen/heard any of the stuff mentioned in the article.

From my link :

DAVOS, Switzerland (AP) - Violent extremists who are killing children and others in Iraq, Syria, Nigeria and other parts of the world may cite Islam as a justification, but the West should be careful about calling them Islamic radicals, Secretary of State John Kerry told an audience of opinion leaders Friday at the World Economic Forum.

In a speech calling for a global effort against violent extremism, Kerry said it would be a mistake to link Islam to criminal conduct rooted in alienation, poverty, thrill-seeking and other factors.
"We have to keep our heads," Kerry said. "The biggest error we could make would be to blame Muslims for crimes...that their faith utterly rejects," he added.
"We will certainly not defeat our foes by vilifying potential partners," the top U.S. diplomat said. "We may very well fuel the very fires that we want to put out."
You're merely repeating The 'Argument from Authority' FALLACY I busted in my last.
{Unable to debate me at all, (Nor could Kerry if he was here.)}
My explanation far more cogent in explaining WHY ISIS et al are completely Islamic.
There will be no answer to that.

As if I needed any documentation:

'Nothing to Do With Islam'?
Oct. 17, 2001 - Wall Street Journal
http://www.wsj.com/articles/SB1003269113984039360
By Amir Taheri. Mr. Taheri, an Iranian author and journalist, is editor of the Paris-based Politique Internationale.

"This has nothing to do with Islam," British Prime Minister Tony Blair recently told a delegation of Muslims at a meeting at 10 Downing Street, referring to the September 11 attacks against the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.

Mr. Blair was echoing a view, popular both in Europe and the U.S., that it is impolite, not to say impolitic, to subject Islam to any criticism. Yet to claim that the attacks had nothing to do with Islam amounts to a whitewash. It is not only disingenuous but also a disservice to Muslims who need, one day, to cast a critical glance at the way their faith is taught, lived and practiced. Even worse, the refusal to subject Islam to rational analysis is a recipe for further fanaticism.".."

When you see "Nothing to do with Islam"..
It has EVERYTHING to do with Islam.

So you want to blame 1.6 billion Muslims for something only a few do?

Interesting. I was watching her last night on TV and noticed she can't make those expressions that she used to. I was thinking why does she appear emotionless, then I realized it was the Botox. I liked her better in her earlier days when she appeared more friendly and knew how to smile every now and again. Now every time I see her she comes off as bothered and too serious. Yes I know she's not there for our entertainment, but personality does count!

This is ANOTHER NON-responsive DISHONEST Deflection and juvenile STRAWMAN as you could NOT debate, now... TWO posts. (and now DISHONESTLY 'short-quote' me too)

I showed why ISIS et al have Alot to do with Islam, whether or Not 1.6 Billion do the same.
YOU WHIFFED, Keep WHIFFING.

Should you wish to debate, or redeem yourself into the club of the responsive, please answer the first or second.
NO Chance.

I will again post our previous sequence/exchange (my points and your dishonest/obvious Non-responses) should you seek to BS any further into oblivion.
No wiggle.
Put up or...

Only a few Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. If these Muslim terrorists did not advocate some moronic convert to (their brand of?) Islam or die nonsense then perhaps pretending that there is no connection to Islam would be easier to sell. When millions cheered the 9/11/2001 attacks it is easy to say that only a handful were involved but hard to explain how not one "good Muslim" tried to prevent that or other terror attacks. These terrorist folks do not develop or live in a vacuum.

Nope, the biggest error that we could make is to think that we can use our military to act as their police force. The second biggest error that we could make is to fund the very corrupt governments that allow these terrorists free reign.

She's a fake blonde.

I'm absolutley positive that there is a direct correlation between the color of one's hair and their intelligence and ability to do their job.

LOL
You take an absurd PC pronouncement as fact?
ISIS isn't Islamic?
Emulating Mohammed's Cleansing, Converting, and Killing, of the Arabian Peninsula (and beyond by his immediate successors), wasn't Islamic?
Jihad isn't Islamic?
You know ARABs only lived in ARABia, the ARABian Peninsula, at Big Mo's birth and didn't get to be from anywhere else until.. um.. Islamic Invasion.
Natives still paying in Egypt, Sudan, Kurdistan, etc.

Many/More People die virtually EVERY single DAY, even in some Single HOURS, than the Total from 30 YEARS of those nasty abortion clinic bombings Moral equivocators like to invoke.

"This has nothing to do with Islam" is right up there for Lies of the century.

True. The number one highest death toll incident in US history was accomplished by a couple of dozen Muslims with box cutters. No abortion clinic incident makes the top 25 list.

Are you actually offering an excuse for them Pete?

So you feel that cheering the deaths of thousands of innocent people on 9/11 (aka, praising the murders) was justified, because our government is allied with Israel?

I am not saying it was justification, I am sAying that's why they did it. Do we murder innocent people in war as well?

the "rise" may not last much longer.

"Kelly lets her guest patter away happily for a good 5 minutes, and then whips around and whacks him in the jowls with this:

"Well I do have news for you before I let you go. We are not only swearing. We're drinking, we're smoking, we're having premarital sex with birth control before we go to work—and sometimes boss around a bunch of men!" "

Of course, she paints her view of feminism in a really negative light, but funny to see this stuff happening all over fox. Almost seems like a cheap, staged "event"

Megyn Kelly Is Primed for the Big Show
The Fox anchor sees a chance to be the next Barbara Walters. A one-on-one with Donald J. Trump will set the stage.
The New York Times - Breaking News, World News & Multimedia

I said weeks ago at DP that this is what Kelly should do....become the next Barbara. It is the only thing that really makes sense for her, and there is an opening.

He hasn't posted here since last November. Probably got tired of all the partisan bull****.

Eh, she's quite a bit better than what you usually serve up, but you lot really could do with your own Jeremy Paxman, most of the people you have interviewing politicians are absolutely useless.

The only conservative anchor I respect on fox is Chris Wallace. He doesn't let his political lean dictate his journalism. He attack liberals views as well as conservative views.

Wow. That's sort of a shock. I really don't know where to go with an opinion on that.

I know she was a lawyer. That's not something to snub much.

Is it possible that Fox News has actually found a conservative female that's not just a pretty face?
Who's been quaffed and lost weight to look like Nicole Brown Simpson? With plunging necklines? Yeah, she's got talent.

Kelly is now complaining that people who criticized her for kissing Trumps arse in a softball interview are meany-heads...

She looks like OJ's murdered ex-wife?

And btw, Kelly has always been around that same weight since she first joined Fox 8 or 10 years ago. Unless you are comparing her weight now, to the times she was pregnant?

From New York Magazine:

Megyn Kelly’s much-publicized broadcast special with Donald Trump was supposed to launch the Fox News star into the stratosphere of television anchordom. Instead, the widely panned show seems to have achieved the opposite result: It exposed the extent of her limited mainstream appeal. Kelly drew just 4.8 million viewers on Tuesday night, a number television executives say is a disappointment by any measure. Three senior executives I spoke with say an audience of 9 million would have been a success. “Not good for her at all,” was how one insider put it.

In the days since, Kelly has been working to contain the fallout. She took aim at critics on her cable show Wednesday night by deploying an age-old Fox News tactic: claiming the backlash was a result of liberal media bias. But behind the scenes, she is said to be worried about the response. “She’s very upset with the show reaction, and in hindsight with how it was produced,” one Fox veteran told me.

The stakes for Kelly are high. As the Times recently reported, she’s in the final year of her contract and has been on a media blitz campaigning for a bigger job at Fox or another network. In recent interviews, she’s said her ambition is to be a combination of Oprah, Charlie Rose, and Barbara Walters. The special was essentially a public interview for her next job.

I did not watch it but for sure the majority narrative out there is that Kelly did not get much out of Trump. I dont know why that should surprise anyone as Trump is Very Very good, but apparently she did not meet expectations. She was already looking like she had self esteem issues, Trump going after her since last Sep did seem to rattle her. Dont know what she does now, I dont see anyone offering to do a Barbara Walters style show for her.
