What are the causes of this wave of gang rape that is seemingly sweeping not only Australia, but many Western and developed countries? This latest tragedy in Australia has people there demanding answers and solutions. What are your thoughts?

Ok, it's not really me, but I can see the epidemic, with three cases of gang rape in Australia involving immigrants in the last 14 years. :roll:

There is an epidemic of rape in Australia, but as the 44,000 victims of rape and sexual assault each year were most likely raped or sexually assaulted by white people, it doesn't make good politics, and no-one cares.

Gang rapes (or any rapes) have zero to do with "liberal" or "political correctness". Rape is a serious issue. To try, in some weird way, to make it about partisanship only cheapens it and makes you look foolish.
 
Are you people kidding yourselves or what? :D You complain about 44000 rapes in Australia in a year? Come to South Africa, go to the nearest black township without your 9mm and even if you are a man I can assure you, you'll get the ride of your life within the first hour :D WTF WELCOME to the rape capital of the world.

Facts & Figures - Australian Centre for the Study of Sexual Assault

In 2005, there were an estimated 44,100 persons aged 18 years and over who were victims of at least one sexual assault in the 12 months prior to the survey

I've taken that figure and used it as a guestimate on rapes/sexual assaults per year. I can't find any figures on just rape, or any yearly totals at all. Specific data is hard to find.

X-Factor kind of forgot how politics can play in to rape and other crime problems.

I've been to South Africa back in 76, don't remember hearing about any rapes back then but the ANC wasn't in power back then. The ANC was just another communist terrorist organization back then.

Politics definitely has a lot to do with crime including rape.

I wonder if the latest gang rape by teens is copycat reaction (gang rapes in India come to mind)?

From talking with my friends in other countries as I travel and work who are in the law enforcement fields, it seems to be a matter of groups of young men who feel disenfranchised from the dominant culture in any one area, though it does occur as a matter of opportunity if it involves members of the same culture ( that is, drunk boys at a fraternity taking advantage of an intoxicated girl). But, when it occurs in an open area along a street or other venue, it is normally conspiratorial, they say, with the matter thought out to hurt or strike out against not only the girl but the culture or society they seem to distain. Thanks for that article. The group being swayed to either do positive or negative is quite so true. What comes to mind right now is the historical atrocities of the mob during the French Revolution.

OK. No 44000 rapes. You might not like Australia but let's not confuse ourselves more than necessary :) Sexual assault is one thing. Rape is another. If I touch a woman's bra without her consent is sexual assault. I don't think I must explain to you what rape is. Sexual assault has a very wide definition. Technically speaking, rape is the ultimate form of sexual assault.
 
Thats right. Australia is the rape capital of the world and Muslims are not to blame. USA is bad too.
