North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has praised scientists involved in the country's recent rocket launch that he said struck a "telling blow" to enemies and ordered them to press ahead with more launches, state media reported Monday.Earlier this month, North Korea ignored repeated international warnings and launched what it said was an Earth observation satellite aboard a rocket. Washington, Seoul and others view the launch as a prohibited test of missile technology and are pushing hard to have Pyongyang slapped with strong sanctions.
The North's official Korean Central News Agency said the ruling Workers' Party on Saturday gave a banquet in honor of scientists, officials and others who it said contributed to the Feb. 7 rocket launch. Kim and his top deputies were present.
In a speech, Kim said the launch gave confidence and courage to his people and dealt a "telling blow to the enemies seeking to block the advance of our country," KCNA said, in an apparent reference to Seoul and Washington.
Kim said the North's launch decision was made when "the hostile forces were getting evermore frantic to suffocate" North Korea, and called for launching more working satellites in the future.

And you can expect more international condemnations and sanctions to come. Even China is getting tired of the bastard step-child.

That mental midget really wants to start a war.

I think that what's really needed is for US to ask China to look the other way while we flatten Kim's head is some manner: some sort of really hard hitting sanctions, some gang free - for - all that shuts his entire country down so we can get NK's attention and have that kid removed.

A military conflict is inevitable unless something is done to destroy the Kim regime. Just obliterate the North Korean government, give control of the country to South Korea and have a unified Korean peninsula solely governed by the ROK.

Oh good, because we need more **** from North Korea...

I'm not sure N Korea is such an ogre. They've been sanctioned, isolated, starved, etc. and still have managed to develop nukes and ICBMs. Technical sophistication and a large military. It seems like there must be some carrot that could lead them to participate more socially in the World. Kim Jong un seems like a narcissistic imitation of previous Korean leadership, but since he is what we have to deal with, "Let's make a deal." Kim uses the Western World as the enemy focal point to keep his Nation organized and nationalistic. Much like the Pentagon Narratives that keep wars going for the USA's Military Industrial Corporate Complex. The Terror War is a similar narrative. Use the Media to keep everyone focused on common enemies. Make them feel thteatened. Sound familiar? It should. As long as the USA keeps threatening Kim, the better his people support him. Maybe the USA does the same thing and uses N Korea as the Evil Empire and a common enemy focus.

China wouldn't stand for a "western ally" on its borders. It would still end up with a war; only a much, much bigger one.
