Afghanistan - a place, where war has been going on for more than a decade. The withdrawal of NATO didn’t help the matters, and now, with ISIS trying to get a foothold in the country, the fate of Afghan nation depends on whether the Taliban will join the talks – and lay down arms for good. What are the chances for peace for Afghanistan? And what is Afghan government ready to sacrifice for the sake of ending the violence? We ask the Chief Executive Officer of Afghanistan - His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Abdullah is on Sophie&Co today.

Afghanistan is now recognizing that the unfortunate accepted political reality in Afghanistan will contain the Taliban having some sort of government power/coalition-power in the soon future.

I don't give a crap. We shouldn't have gone there in the first place.

If they want to live in a backward country, following sharia law, living like the middle ages...more power to em.

Fine. Next time they have anything to do with attacking the US homeland and kill thousands of US civilians, turn the place to glass.

More military lives and dollars well spent...

(We really do a great disservice to our military resources, and all those lives lost, when the government we support ends up accepting the remnants of the one we removed.)

For years I've said that we'll never rid Afghanistan of the Taliban. We should have pulled out of Afghanistan after Bin Laden was killed. People in Afghanistan, Pakistan and many Islamic countries hate us and always will. The idea that we were going to turn them into a free modern country was absurd from the start.
