Tojo, you might want to make a link to the letter you're quoting. Here's one link. That link doesn't end "Tojo", but instead:

Re: Letter to China !!!

Tojo, I'm not sure if you're positing the claim in the OP that the Nanking Massacre didn't happen. If so, please attempt to rebut Frank Capra's Why We Fight documentary where he shows a bit of the Nanking Massacre actually happening. (LGT video).

Personally, I am not in denial over the Nanjin issue. It did happen, however, I do not believe it was an equivalent to a modern day holocaust. There were salient points in that letter which I was a part of, the story of Nanjing was partly a fabrication because it served as propaganda for the State that's why it wasn't officially recognized by China's leaders.

Re: Letter to China !!!

Tojo - you weren't in Nanjing when the massacre nor was I. However, I have talked to people who were living in Nanjing when it occurred. No one will ever know the exact numbers of those who were killed, however, people I talked to and evidence I saw confirms the atrocities that were conducted by Japanese soldiers, not only in Nanjing, but in other cities between SHanghai and Nanjing on that disgusting march by Japanese soldiers in 1937.

Your denial of the atrocities of Nanjing is just as distasteful as the denial of the Holocaust (Shoah) in Europe.

These are your words not mine.

Yes. No one will ever know the exact number, and people you've talked are merely people with opinions, not professional fact finders. No one can deny that the Nanjing massacre was played up by overly emotional Chinese nationalist and a few journalist.

Many of the people I spoke with were in Nanjing at the time. I have also been to Manchuria and similarly talked with people who survived Japanese crimes there. I may be Caucasian, but I speak Chinese and I am not shy about talking to people about tough issues.

But you haven't spoken to any Japanese people, am I right ?

Minorities in the U.S.A have survived American crimes in America. Was it because one side was right and the other wrong ? KKK thought they were fighting against the spread of communism(civil rights movement) whereas African Americans were screaming injustices committed against them by the KKK. Which side was right ? Which side was just ?

You choose to be overly sympathetic to the victims of Nanjing while denying any possibility that there may have been a motive for allowing said atrocities to happen by China's leaders who either had prior knowledge and who were not concerned, or were also a part of these claimed massacres on a political level.

Had Kennedy turned his back on the Civil Rights Movement because of Roosevelts claims that Martin Luther King had ties to Communism(which he did have by the way), would Kennedy have been justified in his decision to deny the passing of the Civil Rights Act ? No. He understood the two evils clearly and was able to distinguish between what was clearly propoganda and what was fact. ("How many negroes were raped and massacred from 1600 to 1950?") If I said thousands more than Nanjing then you'd probably say I was fulll of Sh$T. Moreover, because Nanjing didn't take place on American soil it's fair game for the bleeding heart liberals to attack Japan for atrocities its own government has committed.

Re: Letter to China !!!

What sick fracking rubbish bull**** is this?
The only reason why the rape of Nanjing is not as big a deal in western eyes is because of the cold war. Class A war criminals in Japan got away with their cowardly acts of genocide and are continuously white washing their history. This thread is a perfect example of such bull****.
The far right of Japan is by far the sickest most twisted and disgusting filth in the world - yet hold powerful control over the powerful LDP.

Re: Letter to China !!!

On the behavior of the rightists in Japan, we agree. Fortunately, they do not represent a majority of the Japanese population and they are dying off.
