Another all time ratings low yesterday, but they are all about "diversity" now. Will ratings be better next year, that is to say will they get rewarded for kowtowing to lefty politics?

Serious Question.

Emmy ratings set another record low

Yeah, I'm sure the OP is real concerned about the Emmys. This thread isn't in support of racism at all.

No. Nothing will save the Emmy's.

As evidenced by the political kabuki theater reported to have taken place last night, people have grown weary of the coddled self important elitists who think people are interested in what they have to say and do when not pretending to be someone else.

I am wondering if it has to do with "give us entertainment, not your political tripe". After all few people anymore think they need the gate keepers, think that they need the "experts" to tell them what is good and what is not, so you damn well better come to the table with quality entertainment if you want our eyeballs for awards shows. Which is no more what the people who run Hollywood are after than quality of the art is as a general rule.

EDIT: if quality entertainment is the demanded content it sounds like last night was a fail. Did anyone watch it and think it worked as a piece of entertainment?

How do you objectively measure art quality? Until you can answer that, the question posed in your OP is nonsense.

Quality programming is what people are after. Some years ago, TV Exec laid out their agenda.

TV Executives Admit in Taped Interviews That Hollywood Pushes a Liberal Agenda (Exclusive Video) | Hollywood Reporter

These awards shows have become extension of this narrative. The "talent" tries to show each other how hip and cool they are by toeing the Execs line.

As witnessed by this summers difficult numbers at the theaters, the public is turning a blind eye. Entertainment is suppose to allow people to detach and well, be entertained.

I had no desire to watch the Emmys. My wife mentioned they were on, and I told her I had no desire to see a Hillary Clinton campaign advertisement. What a shock that is what it was.

I read lots of so called experts saying that the winners were by a large a "surprise", which is code for "they do not belong on the stage based upon the quality of their work".

I took their word for it.

SO you are taking them at what you imagine is what they are saying...

I am saying that my mama didnt raise a dummy, I know exactly what they meant to say.

So we are back at what you imagined they said, not at what they actually said.

Only if you redefine the word "imagine".

form a mental image or concept of.
"imagine a road trip from Philadelphia to Chicago"
synonyms: visualize, envisage, envision, picture, see in the mind's eye; More
dream up, think up/of, conjure up, conceive, conceptualize;
formalideate
"imagine sitting through five hours of steady air turbulence"

believe (something unreal or untrue) to exist or be so.
"they suffered from ill health, real or imagined, throughout their lives"

2.
suppose or assume.
"after Ned died, everyone imagined that Mabel would move away"
synonyms: assume, presume, expect, take it, presuppose; More

Don't have to redefine anything, the definition fits perfectly.

If you dont agree with the premise of the thread you might say so, maybe offer up an alternative explanation for what happened last night, but I know what happened and am not interested in arguing over the obvious. Gath, I and others have proven beyond a reasonable doubt that Hollywood is run by corporate hacks who are more interested in promoting their poltical agendas than they are in the quality of their work, the art. I have moved on from the argument that you are trying to have, and while I am bored today I am not so bored as you seem to imagine.

As a matter of fact, no, it was not "in support of racism at all." Thanks for noticing.

It's like a bunch of gabby racist women sitting around a TV spewing crap.

And now, back to the soap opera...
