Could there possibly be a worse friggin award show than the VMA's?

Not that I expected anything of actual substance, but damn, it was beyond unwatchable.

I don't mind getting "OLD" if that's what the "younger" crowd finds entertaining.

I read the linked article earlier this morning and Googled for other reviews, and what's funny is that if you Google "Kanye West rambling speech," you realize that this is what he does every time he's given a mic (or takes one, uninvited).

From HuffPo: "West didn’t provide updates on his presidential plans (pls save us), but his speech did check most of the Kanye’s public speaking boxes: Taylor Swift, a shoutout to Kim, musing on his own importance, bros galore, a Beyoncé compliment and a reminder of how “blessed” we all are." Bro, Kanye West Was Peak Kanye In His Rambling VMAs Speech

Isn't MTV in general pretty bad?

Completely.

They need to change their name. It ain't about music anymore.

They recently launched a new channel called MTV classic, which actually plays music videos along with other older MTV shows. They play the videos in the morning, which I like but I wouldn't count on it lasting.

As far as the VMAs, it was bad. I wanted to see Rihanna but I didn't even last to see all of it. Plus, normally I really like Key and Peele but last night I just couldn't. Maybe if the station actually played current videos it would work somehow but as they declined with the videos there's really no point to their awards.

All award shows suck.

Also, MTV has sucked for a long time now.

For years the country awards shows had the perfect recipe. Lots of performances by the top artists without trying to be edgy and funny every chance they got.
Now ever the country award shows are falling into the abyss.

Generally speaking though, the VMA's this year was by far the worst awards show I've ever seen.

By far the worst.
