If he doesn't sign the Beatles to a recording contract in 1962 (and he was pretty much the last shot they had - see my signature), who knows how popular music would have developed in the 60's and beyond. The Beatles blew the doors wide open for essentially every rock and roll band that followed.

A great producer and apparently an even better human being.

Goddamnit! I thought you meant George R. R. Martin for a second there. I was going to be pissed.

I will admit the headline gave me a moment of panic though I've been predicting for years GRRM is going to pull a Robert Jordan.

I must be the only person who doesn't know or care who George R R Martin is.

THE George Martin - R.I.P to a huge force in the development of popular music in a whole range of genres.

Yeah - he may have been a fifth Beatle but he also worked with other musicians including Jeff Beck.

Lol! I literally gasped out loud. I know, what a ****ing wuss.

But still, I wish GRRM would get off his lazy fat arse and crank out a couple more Song of Ice and Fire books, before he does kick the bucket. We don't want another Robert Jordan sitcheashun. ;)

I don't know is Brandon Sanderson could step in on this one. I think we be **** outta luck if GRRM croaks. :(

He's a fine writer and deserves his own thread when he dies. This isn't about him - not that it matters to the people who posted here.
