Guns N' Roses to reunite for Coachella, sources say - CNN.com

(Billboard)Guns N' Roses, with founding members Axl Rose and Slash, will headline the Coachella Music & Arts Festival in Indio, California set for April 15-17 and April 22-24, according to multiple sources. The reunited band is also negotiating with promoters to play as many as 25 football stadiums in North America in the summer of 2016, and is scheduled to be one of the first acts to play the new Las Vegas Arena, set to open April 6. Guns N' Roses is said to be asking as much as $3 million per show, with tickets topping out in the $250-$275 range.

Anyone wanna bet this implodes before it ever actually happens?

The group should never had dismantled.

They were true greats of Rock in my opinion.

The idea of seeing Slash and Axl on stage again would definitely be awesome.

I saw G n R back in 07 I think, Axl actually surprised me, I didn't expect much after seeing his lackluster performance in 2004 on video but man, he was pretty good (after being 1-2 hours late of course).

Unfortunately Axl is a prick and the primary reason why the old gang won't get back together, so we'll see, time changes folks and maybe they can make amends.

Assuming that they still have talent I have always expected that at some point the money and the glory would be too hard to turn down, that they would get over what ever their relationship problems are. None of these guys are like ABBA, who once they stopped figured that there was no reason to start again unless they would do something new that was way cool. Guns and Roses would certainly come back a do a glorified old farts at the casino tour for the right money.

I like Guns N Roses, they've got some good stuff. They're not my most favorite band, but they're still really really good.

I'll believe it when I see it.

Rose looks like porky pig. His voice is trashed too. Slash still jams, but he can't carry a show. And, I hear the original drummer will not be invited to play in the retro tour--drug issues.

I've moved on from G&R...if you can't tell.

they have tried this before.

rose doesn't have the vocals anymore. he trashed his voice.
slash can still do it but I don't think he can do it with axl.

as much as people would like to get this to work I just don't think it will.
to much bad blood.

this is what to many drugs and way to much alcohol will do.

Too me, great bands that break up when they were big and then get back together when they are old/middle aged is not cool...it's just sad.

Always know when to walk away from something.

At to that the rumor that Axel is psychotic and you a have a good combination to mess up a perfectly working band irrelevant of money, success, and public demand.

I was too young to see the original lineup, I'm looking forward to seeing the Coachella show. Not sure who else is playing, I'll be going for GnR . I'd be really excited if Steven and Izzy are there.

Axl by himself is not G&R.

For reference, Van Halen ceased to be Van Halen when DLR was replaced by Sammy Hagar.

One thing I respect about Led Zepplin is the fact that they dissolved the band upon the death of John Bonham.

When they came out, they were without doubt one of the hottest hard rock bands of their time.

In this case he toured as guns n roses, guns n roses technically never ended, only the lineup changed, which is why Chinese democracy is guns n roses album, not Axl album.

We can agree to disagree. Axl discredited the G&R name by keeping it when the original group split up and went separate ways.

Axl should have followed in Dave Grohls example and just created a new band/name.

Axl is merely an empty shell of G&R who's clinging desperately to the name recognition for obvious reasons.

That was a long time ago...

CD has some good songs, but it's GnR in name only. GnR are the original 5 guys, other wise its Axl n Lackies.

Rumors are that GnR will be paid $3 million a show and play 25 shows. It ain't about being cool when that kind of money is out there.

Guns N' Roses have sold over 65 million albums.

I highly doubt Slash or Axl are broke.

This is obviously, imo, about ego/fame and not money.

Slash just divorced his wife, and she walked away with half of all his money. There's a good reason to get the band back together.

That explains a lot.

As we know too, not many people buy CD's of old bands anymore. In fact, does anyone even buy music anymore? I get all my music free now.

That was then. Guys like that burn through money like we light up pixels. My guess is the revenue stream is drying up.
