Why is metal and hard rock such a male dominated music form?

Maybe the non romantic songs that the majority of metal/ hard rock sung is a turn off for females or maybe it is the in your face aggression. I thought you were going to be asking about why there aren't as many female performers. (And I'd suggest....they probably can't do the silly "mean growl" that makes up half of metal).



As for fandom, I dunno....

The wife love listening to Alice in Chains, Tool, Sabbath, G n' R, etc., with me. Pretty much all of our friend from college loved that kind of music too.



I actually didn't sense that there were that many more men than woman at the more recent shows I've been to - NIN/Soundgarden, Slash (whose newer stuff is heavier than Gn'R), etc.
 
Not to into the stuff but I find these guys very entertaining, especially around people who don't like it.... play it very loud.

Maybe he meant to visit on vacation? I enjoyed Turkey but if I had to choose between a week in Turkey and a week in Bali, Indonesia, well...

bali is a touristic island and yes good for holiday
